I honestly didn't believe him but like he was so bent on convincing me that I began to believe him. He's good.

Also, I'm getting my 360 tomorrow for a trade in with my PS3. Does Gamestop provide a warrenty?

Yeah. It's an automatic warranty for the red ring of death.

And I'm pretty sure the warranty doesn't come from the store, but Microsoft itself.

I have a question.

How the hell do you take off the shell of the 360? I want to take off my shell for my broken one so I can scam a local Gamestop into getting a new 360 for free. I'll buy an XBOX 360, take the shell of it, then put my broken XBOX 360 innards into that shell. I only need to look around the inside of my current 360 to see if there are serial numbers that I need to take off and place on the new shell.

Anyway, I need to know how to take the shell off without breaking the damn thing, and where all of the serial numbers are located within and on the shell of the 360.

Wait...

I'm sure that's illegal, so just replace all of the "I"'s and any references to myself with "A guy I know"...

So if anybodu could help out a guy I know, I'd much appreciate it... I mean he'd appreciate it.

You do know that if you take the case off, it voids the warranty, right?

I don't have the receipt, so how would I have a warranty to get it fixed?

I don't believe you need the receipt if you send it back to Microsoft to get it fixed.

There is also a seal on all consoles. The "shell" usually comes in 2 halves and the seal breaks when you split them. If the seal is broken, warranty is void no matter what you say or do to MS.

Where is this "seal" and what does it look like? Is it a sticker or something of that nature?

It's under the faceplate and it is a sticker. Here's a pic:

If it's taken off an image appears on the sticker to show that it's been removed. There are a few ways to get around it, but I personally wouldn't try it.

There are videos on youtube that show you how to take it off.
