The maps have been out like what, a week? And people are already asking why they even bothered downloading them.
Makes me glad the 360 got them before the PS3. 360 gamers have been the unfortunate guinea pigs in this situation.

I was playing today... maybe a little over an hour and creek came up twice, china town twice, and broadcast once... It depends on what room you are in if your gonna play them or not.

I've played the new maps PLENTY of times since they were integrated into the normal rotation and I don't play pub servers much at all anymore.
The reason the maps don't come up a lot for you is because you were probably in rooms with someone who hasn't DL'd the map packs. It will only switch to a new map if everyone in the room has the maps.

That was when my team was warming up to play our first round playoff match. I don't think I had my headset on, I was just kind of there.
I didn't suck did I?

thats the problem with online multiplayer these days. since when did you have to start paying for insignificant things such as maps, weapons, multiplayer modes, etc?! All it does is divide gamers, and it gets less cute if it backfires and less than 50% actually get the packs. Really things like these should be free, no matter what thier capitalist excuses for charging are, and in an online multiplayer game, everyone should be at an even playingfield, not this person having 9 map packs and the other having a couple here, a couple there, etc.
im not just talking about cod4 here, but countless games have been further complicated(and segregated its userbase) with expensive downloadable content. Its just that COD4 has had the worst implementation of such content ive seen on xbox live up until this point at least. I dont think ill be playing it for a while since i just got mr driller and ikaruga, and i really dont want to have to pay another 25 bucks(2000 points) just to get 2 map packs(halo and cod)

That was as lame as it was pointless.
Just tell me what pourpose does it serve for sombody to pay full price for a game, only to see they cant play with thier friends becuse they dont have a couple of maps? And of course theres always people who dont/wont buy any downloadable content. Theyd be alienated in some sort as well as the people who cant play any of the new maps becue theyre getting stuck with ppl who dont have the new maps. Its just bad implementation on thier part, however i think halo does it the best. i kno 10 bucks is not much, but it adds up upon multiple paks , especially if you have a lot of games you enjoy playing online with friends. Its like "yes i got the new cod4 maps, Ugh! now a halo3 turok and rainbow six pack?! " it gets alittle outrageous over time, and now im starting to see that when i count how much money ive wasted on useless multiplayer content.
now things like single player content im all for, like the ghost recon mission pack or the promised gta 4 content, but paying so much for some freakin maps and game modes i probably wont play is ridiculous, especially when all you want to do is play multiplayer with your friends. I belive at the LEAST maps should be free.

People can still play with their friends just not on the new maps. And its their choice to download the new maps so don't complain that they are alienated. I have the new maps and play them all the time so apparently I don't get stuck in rooms with people who don't have them, like you claim I would.
They should have kept a server up for new maps only but if people want to play them that bad then start a private room. If the multiplayer content is too much for you then don't play so many games and don't buy it. It's your choice, cause no one is forcing you. You can still play the game just as well as when you bought it.
Most people play multiplayer, and some don't even play single player at all so why not add maps to multiplayer. It's the most played online game on the 360 so it makes the most sense.

no, you dont get the point. the new maps were still badly implemented into the game(they just threw them in) and yes people are getting stuck in rooms with people who dont have them(private rooms are not a good answer), and no, i never said it was too much for me, i just dont feel like paying for maps is even worth it wether i can afford it or not(even tho it is our fault since we continue to buy).
And as far as maps being just a mater of choice, its more than just an option, u have to pay for it(its more like your forced to buy it), and there ARE alot of people who wont or cant afford to buy alot of downloadable content, especially the more casual players. Sure, segregation of the gaming population is fine on a game like cod4 but what about games were the DC doesnt catch on and people just stop playing? or a game that had little players to begin with?Ive been playing xbox live since launch and ive seen so much complicated ******** trying to get people together and being crippled becuse some people dont have(wont buy) certain content. Actually, back in the early xbox live days most maps were free, so u see why i see how worthless it is now.
im not saying that downloadable content is worthless, but to be paying so much for little downloadable content like multiplayer maps, guns, game modes, in game unlockables, is utterly ridiculous, no matter how u put it and microsoft needs to be ashamed at the **** they put out, as well as 1-300 points for f'ing gamer pics. I am all for paying alittle extra for really good single player content though, nobody gets alienated and is more of a matter of choice.
