Final Fantasy going to 360?
Does anyone have any legit information on this? I keep hearing rumors of it from my local radio station. They say that one of the key game designers of the game or whatever is planning to move to the 360 with the project because he's tired of dealing with the specs of the PS3

A lot of their old key developers moved to a new company called Mistwalker, who made Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon. I have a feeling final fantasy will stay on playstation only, although FFXI was on the 360.

No, pretty much 1 guy went to Mistwalker. Well.....one IMPORTANT guy. Sakaguchi.

Over the years Square Enix/Square Soft have lost a few key members, but the games still sell on name alone.

Alright I shouldn't have said a lot, but 2 very important developers have. You might disagree, but I consider Nobuo Uematsu to be a very important factor. Yeah, it's just music, but he's very experienced and good at creating emotions with sound.

MGS Main Theme composers:

MGS1: Tappy
MGS2: Harry Gregson-Williams
MGS3: Norihiko Hibino

Composers change, but the music is always awesome. I know it isn't that great of an example, but it isn't as big of a deal as one would think, since the game developers would have a level they would be considered standard for their own game, and wouldn't accept music that does not fit the game.

If I'm not mistaken, Nobuo Uematsu isn't exactly working for just one developer. At the moment, his company, Smile Please, is focusing on Mistwalker's games, but he isn't tied to just their games. He still works with Square-Enix even, although he does not do nearly as much as he used to.

In any case, I don't see Final Fantasy coming to Xbox 360. The reason I believe this is because Final Fantasy XIII utilizes Crystal Tools, the engine developed specifically for the PS3 using its specs. And by the time another Final Fantasy project is underway, I'd say the Xbox 360 will be nearing the end of its time. That's purely my guess. =)

Actually, the engine was once called the White Engine, but was later renamed Crystal Tools when it went MULTIPLATFORM to the 360, PC, and even Wii. But that does not mean FF13 is going to the 360. The engines on each specific platform are still somewhat different from one another since the engine was first built from the ground up taking advantage of the PS3 hardware. Since it was programed completely for the PS3, it probably had to be tweaked and messed around with to properly work on other systems. They plan on using crystal tools on their upcoming multiplatform MMORPG, although FF13 will be the one that showcases off the engine the best.

Ahh, I hadn't heard about that little detail. I knew it was formerly called White Engine, but did not know of the multiplatform deal. Thank you for letting me know. =)

I dunno, I'm kinda obsessed with him. He is an amazing composer, and just feel that his music was a key element to the series. Did you notice how FF11 and 12 didn't have such amazing soundtracks? He did half of 12, and really didn't do that much of the main music in 11. After FF10, they started losing the feel of Final Fantasy. It is still a great series, but isn't what it used to be.

Last I checked on Mistwalker's website it says Nobuo was one of the creators of Mistwalker, and that he does officially work for them.
