Sony said in a few months. So expect a beta this summer?
I'm hoping this will come out wit the in-game XMB

Their pretty strict / anal over there.. Im not surprised.

I think the public beta should be out soon. Unless the release is getting pushed back again another time.

Well a cache I saw on another site (I forget which) of the official Home website stated there will be an open beta in Spring of this year. This gives them around 1 or 2 days short of a 3 month (approximately) period to roll one out.

I am not worried about Home getting pushed back since this will be Sony's biggest project of the year so will gain their attention more than a game would. If Home fails, I think the PS3 will go down with it. For that reason alone, I don't think Sony will let it happen.

I will be seriously pissed off if the open beta is in the "lottery draw" style of the COD4 beta.... or was that not considered an open beta?

I really don't think Home can really hurt the PS3...

Since it is completely optional, people have the choice to use it or not. But the fact that it is THERE, it can't really do anything but get people interested. There would have to be some people that do not have a PS3 yet that think it is interesting.

I think the only way it could hurt the PS3, is if it is a complete failure, like if EA made it or something. But the time and money they are putting into it, I just don't see how that would be possible. It will just come down to personal preference.

I read a rumor (from a site that I forgot) that stated the closed beta for Home ends sometime in May. If that holds true, then we could see an open beta in June/July, and an official release sometime late July or more likely August.

However, everything is purely speculation, so until official news is released, I'm not really expecting it to be released anytime soon.

IGN has it listed as a Q3 release. I couldn't find any official info on it, but I trust them.

You trust IGN? Even after reading a majority of their (otherwise) crappy previews and reviews? Sorry, but the last place that I would trust would be IGN...

The only gaming website I truely love is Gamersyde because of their very high quality pictures and videos...I don't care about other site's lopsided opinions.

I trust IGN for everything other than their reviews, previews, etc.

There is a lot of solid news on there and the release dates are updated pretty regularly. I go there everyday to see what's happening in the gaming world.

Back on topic: I can't wait to see the price of new accessories/apartments when Home is released. I can't believe there will be people out there who buy luxury place to live with all the best stuff on what's not even a game. I think most of them will just be making up for their crap house in real life.
