Mine was NAT 3 until last month and it changed to NAT 2. I have absolutely no idea what I did to change it, but I have been unplugging my hub a lot recently so try that.

It has also been said that you can restart your PS3 until it changes to NAT 2, but the number of restarts is different for everyone and is not guaranteed to work. The reason being is the PS3 uses different ports every time it connects.

Wow, that's really interesting. Can it be set to use a specific port or a range?

No idea, I am only stating what I have seen on various websites.

I have never had to change/modify/etc any ports for any reason so I wouldn't even know where to start.

You could set you PS3 in the DMZ. It gets me NAT 2.

It's simpler than manually opening ports and such.

Guide here: How to: Put your PS3 into a DMZ - Call of Duty 4 Forums

I'm having a problem with my controller and perhaps someone here would be able to help me so I don't have to deal with Sony.

For the last month and a half or so, I've had to turn on my PS3 using the button on the system because it wouldn't work by pressing the PS button. I could play about 10-15 minutes with the controller not plugged in before the red lights started to blink, so I'd just plug it in and continue playing (and yes, the controller was fully charged).

But the past week the controller has just been shutting off and not reconnecting after 20-30 minutes. Just a few minutes ago I was playing the NCAA 09 demo. At the end of the game my controller wasn't responding, but the light was still on over the '1'

I do have my 360 off.

I'd really like to get this fixed before NCAA 09 is released next week (have it reserved). Buying a new controller and a new game would really put a strain on my bank account, so I'm really wanting to go that way.

I think Sony will fix controllers under warranty. I know they promised free battery replacement at one point, whether they hold to it or not is another matter.

I'm not sure what could be causing the problem, but I did have the same thing happen to me for a week or so. I would be playing a game, and all of a sudden the controller just stopped working. It also stopped registering with my PS3, and I had to plug it in (USB), and then turn it on to register it. Now, both of my controllers work fine.

If you want a controller in time for a certain game, just buy a SixAxis if you can still find them there. They are going for dirt cheap here due to the recent release of the DS3, obviously they've been out of production longer there though. I think you can get 2 SixAxis controllers for the price of 1 DS3 here right now, now bad for the people buying PS3's for their kids to wreck.

Irish, have you tried re-syncing the controller with the PS3?

That's what Sony told me to do and I'm finding now that my PS3 turns on without me even knowing it.

I may just get a DS3 when I go get NCAA 09 on Tuesday. I was planning on getting one sometime anyway. The only thing really holding me back to getting one before was car payments and gas prices, but I have 3 weeks until my next payment and my sister gave me $40 for gas money since she's been using my car a lot lately.

I had this problem when I was on my cell phone. Every time I answered my phone the controller would just disconnect. Or I would play cod and it wouldn't fully disconnect but if I turned, my guy would keep turning then it re-connected then worked for a little bit.

If it is the battery witch i dougbt it is, it is really easy to change if you go on youtube and search it..
