By "fixes" I mean changes or additions in gameplay that should be in Confrontation with no problems.

I understand your point about the big maps. Zipper did give us options for small maps but they were mostly uneven and were just played as suppression. Hopefully with Confrontation being online only the maps will be more even, instead of being based off the single player missions.

I understand what you meant, I just don't see the point when we literally have NO idea how the game will be in relation to how S3/CA are played now.

However, they have stated that the game will be more like Socom 1 and 2.

The small maps were just cropped from large maps and were never meant to be played that way, which is why all maps suffered.

I'd like to see a game where, if you stay stationary for more than 30 seconds, a giant red arrow of death is displayed above you, for all to see.

Since I know that'll never happen, I can only say that you're going to need to accept a certain amount of camping in a third-person shooter. It sucks, I know, but it's all part of the game anymore.

I thought Call of Duty 4 had really done it well. However, I think that the challenge system and prestige modes do nothing but encourage camping. With everyone trying to get only headshots for this marksman challenge, or people trying to get as many points as possible because they were fools and gave up all of their weapons, it all equates to people camping and sniping.

I do think that weapons need to be restricted to one attachment only. A scope and a silencer is just camper bait. All it does is enables people to hide in bushes and wait for that shot.

To me Socom has always been about fast-paced, fun, tactical gameplay. They need to find a way to do that in the new shooter world.

They also need a lot of maps. I'm talking about a rediculous number, because most of the community will spend hours playing it almost every day. COD4 has something like 10 or 12 maps, and anymore it feels like the same 4 maps over and over. So, they need like 20+ maps.

Waterworks has to be one of them.

Here are some of my top reasons s3 failed in the minds to people. This excludes the maps lacking the appeal and design from those in s1 and s2 and the cheating.
Starting with the model 18, this rediculous sidearm encouraged people to start sniping because they know they can run around with it and drop anyone with just a clip. This is the ultimate noob gun, and I don't care what anyone says. As a seal you can find one quite easily too.
Secondly, the only types of games you can find now are 11-3 small supression rooms with no grenades, explosives, and mines. People really don't have much defense against snipers now do they. For Confrontation they have to make grenades mandatory. S3 is such ***** game now because of these types of rooms.
For the ranking system I think the easiest solution, is to judge the rankings by separate game types and the stats you achieve in those games.
Last but not least, they have to increase the difficulty of sniping for obvious reasons.

These are some things I think will hopefully reduce the camping on the next entry of Socom:

A few things I think Confrontation needs to have:

1. Specific game modes for each map. I mean really, suppression is really freaking boring after a while. I did like how Zipper tried to give us the demo option for small maps on CA, but you really never saw any mixed suppression and demo games.

2. Weapon attachments need to go. I like how in S2 guns like the M4 had built in scopes. Of course they weren't able to see crossed the map thankfully. I just can't stand the people who get the Scope+Suppressor and just camp and snipe. It's a freakin assault rifle, go out and run with it.

Maybe one attachment would be good. With a suppressor you'll be able to keep yourself discrete, but yet you won't have the accuracy as someone with a front grip or the range of someone with a scope.

3. There should be no gun that kills in one shot. I don't care about realism, as this is a game. I feel if you're going to be sniping from a distance, usually proning in a bush, with a one hit kill gun is just really stupid when you think about it. I know sometimes people can sponge the shots and in will bring them red health in S3. At least make the person shot go down to low health were one bullet will kill them every time.

4. As I'm fed up with camping I really only play respawns in S3 where the camping is greatly reduced. Many people leave explosives on when vehicles are on. This is fine with me but you always have those people who abuse the 203s and GLs. I think when people have their 203 or GL selected they should be force to stand still and fire it. Turning is fine, just no walking. I think when people see this they'll go ahead and use the RPGs and AT-4s because you're still able to move, just very slowly.

Another thing with the 203s and GLs in the ammo amount. You should get 2 normally and then 4 with the extra instead of the 3 and 6.

These are just some opinions I have to make the game like it's old self. The fast paced action is Socom and it needs to come back, or else the Series will be lost forever.
you will still be able to customize weapons to a full extent and Slant Six games made socom to where the enemies show up on your radar to stop camping but also enemies are only visible when your teammates have there crosshairs on them or when they are shooting so you wont be able to camp any more for those reasons

I think one thing that changed a lot is how easy it is to snipe as well, i mean i remember in 1 and 2 sniping was difficult because it was always moving around, now with sniping its just stayes put. also they need to make the right adjustments to the levels and balance them out, 3 and combine assault just didnt have that feeling to them. but hopefully with these new maps coming for confrontation and cross roads maybe this will be the beginning to yet a better franchise

You're never going to truly and completely get rid of camping. We can't control the way a person plays a game.. no matter what kind of maps or what kind of weapon customizing options they put forth.

What I would like to see however is the option to include certain things in a game when you create it. Socom III had the right idea with having the option of what TYPE of guns you want to include in a created game.. but you should be able to remove SPECIFIC items from a game.. (ie: ghille suits, suppressors, scopes, certain guns such as F90 or MK4. I think that if created right then true run and gun rooms are a definite possibility.

I understand camping will never be gone. There was camping in S1 and S2, just because the objectives of the maps were different. On S3/CA it's nearly every game, every round a team is camping just because they get the mentality in suppression you get one kill and camp.

I would like too see this too. Ghillie suits should simply never be in another Socom game. As for the Weapon thing, each gun should cancel each other out. Like in S3 the M4 and RA would cancel each other out, or the IW and STG. For this to even be a feature though Confrontation needs to have even guns on each team, and each team will have a gun very similar to a gun on the opposing team.

To me actually, even if I was sniping, I NEVER used a ghillie suit, simply because I wasn't the type of sniper who sat in bushes and camped, I was running around just like I would with a M4 or STG. But the point is, I didn't see the point of the Ghillie in S3 and CA. THey did nothing at all as far as camoflauge is concerned. They were useless, only thing they were good for was taking up a lot of weight. The terrorist ghillie actually was invisable every once in a while, but thats about it. I could see someone in a bush with a ghille just as easy as the lady with the white suit.

Socom Confrontation might be a different story however.

Like I've said before, I like to ambush! But I also like to run and gun on certain maps. I think they need to make maps for the run and gun crowd. Don't have to many places where you can camp, and that should do away with most of it. But they still need ambush type maps also. Maps like Blackwoods just cry out for a ambush. Maps like Bloodlake, with a few less hills, trees, bushes, rocks would be a great run and gun map. And with any of the maps, if you want, there should be a option that lets you pick a time limit on how long you stay still. Say a minimum of 5 seconds or so, to stop and shoot or toss a nade at someone. After the time is up, you die till the next round.
I hope they give us a couple choices of knifes this time. I really like having one in COD4. (Although I think they make it to easy to use.) It would be great to have one, for in the water. And I hope they have Claymore mines like in COD4.
