Lost Odyssey *SOME SPOILERS*
I have only heard great things about this game. I was looking for opinions from anyone who bought it, because I'm probably getting it within the next few days.
I'll give a background for anyone who doesn't know about it.
Lost Odyssey is a game from Mistwalker, the makers of Blue Dragon. Mistwalker's head staff has some old Final Fantasy developers, even Nobuo Uematsu (my fave) who has been making the music for final fantasy for years now. The game is an RPG about Kaim, an immortal man who has been alive for over 1,000 years. He can't remember his past and throughout the game you unlock his past experiences. From what I hear it is very depressing and emotional.
I can't wait to play it! Share your opinions.

I was also interested in this game so I saked a guy on my friends list what he thought about it and he described the game in few words and I already want to buy it.
He pretty much said, if you love the Final Fantasy series, you will love this game. They could have called the game Final Fantasy and gotten away with it it's that similar.
I love most Final Fantasy games and from that alone, I want to give it a shot. I pretty much consider any RPG game that advertises as much as Lost Odyssey did would more than likely be a hit game.

I can't stand the FF games, but I really liked Mistwalker's last effort (Blue Dragon), despite it being almost universally panned. I've heard nothing but good stuff about Lost Oddyssey, so I can't wait to see what that's like. I'll be importing it by the end of the week, without fail.

I got the game from Gamefly. All four discs in one little pouch, lmao.
The game holds a very very close resemblance to FF games, especially ff7. But it still has many unique and different additions to the game that make it feel fresh. If you are a jRPG fan, I would highly suggest atleast trying this game out. It is a pretty linear experience, but fun nonetheless.

Yeah one of the main reasons I need to try this game out is because of its final fantasy feel. Everyone is telling me how good it is, I think I'm gonna pick it up tommorow.

Also, what I like about this game, is you won't get through it by spamming attacks. You need some strategy.

I thought the combat was turn-based, isn't it?

Yes it is. What I meant by spamming is just, attack attack attack attack attack without using spells, items, etc etc etc.

A friend of mine has Lost Odyssey and has been playing it. Supposedly, he was playing through one part that was so depressing he had to stop.
Is it really that sad?

Oh, I see. Like my final fantasy 12 characters lol... I had 2 amazing tanks that did nothing but attack and one decent healer.

My friend has been on and off with this game and COD 4 because he "needs breaks from the depressingness". I heard it really gets to you. I can understand why, imagine seing flashbacks of a guy who has lived over 1,000 years? He's probably been through EVERYTHING there is.
Anyway, I'm literally leaving my house right now to go pick it up. =) I'll let you guys know how it is.
