What this Socom needs to reduce camping and other problems!
Well, I've played with a lot of people who quit S3 because of the massive camping. I also know friends and school mates who have stopped for the same reasons.
These are some things I think will hopefully reduce the camping on the next entry of Socom:
A few things I think Confrontation needs to have:
1. Specific game modes for each map. I mean really, suppression is really freaking boring after a while. I did like how Zipper tried to give us the demo option for small maps on CA, but you really never saw any mixed suppression and demo games.
2. Weapon attachments need to go. I like how in S2 guns like the M4 had built in scopes. Of course they weren't able to see crossed the map thankfully. I just can't stand the people who get the Scope+Suppressor and just camp and snipe. It's a freakin assault rifle, go out and run with it.
Maybe one attachment would be good. With a suppressor you'll be able to keep yourself discrete, but yet you won't have the accuracy as someone with a front grip or the range of someone with a scope.
3. There should be no gun that kills in one shot. I don't care about realism, as this is a game. I feel if you're going to be sniping from a distance, usually proning in a bush, with a one hit kill gun is just really stupid when you think about it. I know sometimes people can sponge the shots and in will bring them red health in S3. At least make the person shot go down to low health were one bullet will kill them every time.
4. As I'm fed up with camping I really only play respawns in S3 where the camping is greatly reduced. Many people leave explosives on when vehicles are on. This is fine with me but you always have those people who abuse the 203s and GLs. I think when people have their 203 or GL selected they should be force to stand still and fire it. Turning is fine, just no walking. I think when people see this they'll go ahead and use the RPGs and AT-4s because you're still able to move, just very slowly.
Another thing with the 203s and GLs in the ammo amount. You should get 2 normally and then 4 with the extra instead of the 3 and 6.
These are just some opinions I have to make the game like it's old self. The fast paced action is Socom and it needs to come back, or else the Series will be lost forever.

I agree with pretty much every suggestion you made. However, I have always thought that the quickest and most effective way for me to counter a sniper/camper is to use 203s. When S3 first came out, I carried them most of the time because the maps were so big and open that if someone is sniping they have an advantage. So everytime I saw someone take a shot laying down somewhere, I launched a 203 grenade their way. Unfortunately, everyone likes to snipe and no one likes to be killed by a 203 while sniping. So, no one allows them to be used. I said from the very beginning that the 203s were there to counter snipers and I would like to see them left alone.

I'd like to see SS put every game type on every map to start, then go with feedback to decide what to get rid of in an update.

Just like COD4, only one attachment. Only thing is that doesn't stop the camping in COD4.

203s should just be completely eliminated from the game. 98% of the people that use them do so for the easy kills. And now that vehicles are no longer in the game, they should just get rid of explosives all together.
This game is going to be awesome when it first comes out because everyone is going to run around trying to get to know the maps. But then as everyone starts to find the hot spots, we'll get corner camping and just camping in general.

oh yeah, it'd be great if they tailored the game exactly to your weaknesses so you can get mvp every round. how great! i can't wait to play this game!
come on man, give me a break. camping may suck, but it's essential if you play with any sort of strategy. this isn't the beaches of normandy. not everyone just rushes out to kill. if you want that, go play respawn.
in real life, one can attach anything to a weapon, so why should that go in the game? if they take away attachments, then they should also take away the weight load and let everyone run around at the same speed.
and no gun that kills in one shot? um, last time i checked, few people survive after shots the the head or heart... and any time you get hit with a sniper rifle, you're most likely done if it is anywhere in the abdomen or head.

No, camping is not used as strategy in S3/CA. Hiding in your spawn for 3 min in KF small just because you have a man advatage is not strategy, its fear of losing at a GAME. Get over it dude. In S2 there was camping, but nobody cared because you needed to in certain scenarios (FH hostage, DG hostage, Enowapi etc).

In case you didn't notice, it's a video. It isn't supposed to be like real life.
No need to camp to use strategy. You should have been in wars with [S3]. We rushed with a strategy. This many snipers, this many people rushing to certain spots, etc. People that do nothing but camp don't realize how pathetic it is that they're just sitting in front of their TV with a hope of getting a kill.
Last time I played Socom, it was a respawn. It was also a campfest. Harvester big map and nearly everybody grabbed a Christmas suit and M82/M87.
With the weapons, again, it's a video game, certain things must be limited. If we got unlimited attachments (with reality in the picture), it would be nothing but ghillie suits, IWs, high scopes, SDs, grips and lasers. Having only one attachment prevents campers from being silent at long range.
OSOK, again, video game. There was always complaining about the M87 and M82 snipers because, for the most part, they were OSOKs, as are their real life counterparts.
So, if you want to camp with 7 different attachments on your gun, join the military.

This is a video game you idiot, not real life. You obviously haven't played S1 or S2. If you have, then just go away because you have nothing to add to make Socom return to it's roots.
Don't put words in my mouth either or tell me what type of game to play. Did I ever say anything about getting MVPs or winning all the time? I could careless if I win or not. If I'm playing a game and I go 1-10 but yet everyone wasn't camping or waiting around corners for an hour just so they can get a single kill that's fine with me. I'll just play next game and try to do better.
Camping is also not a strategy. You can play this game with strategy and not camp buddy. S3.com did for 100+ clan wins and only 25 loses so don't tell me camping is a strategy or essential to strategy.
It's just pathetic that is S2 (even though there was some camping with the different game modes) you could get 3 or more maps in about a half hour. Now in nearly all 11-3 games it takes 30 minutes just for one map just because of people like you who think camping is a strategy.

what i think the game needs, in order to reduce spawn camping, let you live for like 3 seconds after you respawn. like in the old sonic games, when you'd get hit by an enemy, you'd start flashing and no one could hurt you. that would be sweet. this way, there's none of that ******** where you spawn and some n00bz0r has his crosshairs on your head and kills you.

They should talk to the guys that make UT. Spawn protection time plus decent spawns. FFA spawns are never any good.
Your mention of Sonic makes me miss my Sega, even though I have Heroes and Riders for PS2. Nothing like the original.

I think they should bring back the old maps, that would be the best thing ever, besides putting it on Xbox...
