How can I reduce the fan's sound?

Everybody who owns a Xbox 360 is extremely satisfied as it has been awarded the best consel of 2006 and early 2007 by many video game companies. But beside that, there is one problem which kinda bugs me. The noisy fan. I tried putting coolers etc... on it but nothing works that i have already tried. I would like to know how i can reduce the sound of the fan without blocking air flow.

Sit far away from the Xbox, turn your volume up, or get a headset for yourself... That's pretty much all I can think of.

Actually, it's not the fan that's loud, it's the dvd drive. There are ways to make it quiet. Go to youtube and search "quiet xbox 360 glitch"

Ive done it, it works.

None, but I've only tried it once.

And you wonder why you have so many problems with your 360?

The quietest fan that I have heard on a 360 is the one that's currently in my office... ever since I got it back from Microsoft for repairs, I haven't had one run this nicely since I first got a 360, which was nearly two years ago.

I've never had problems with my ex-360. Other than the bs with live recently.

Please...pass the pipe this way...

There's a really easy way to reduce the sound of the fan. This thing right here, just unplug it from the back of the 360:

OH man, the other day when I turned off my 360 (which was already being louder than normal), the fan STAYED ON and then made 3 clicking nosies and finally turned off. Looks like my ps3 won't get here soon enough because I'm pretty sure my 360 (number 2) is going to go ALSDKJFALJK soon.
