Also, most of the downloadable crap on XBL is a joke, i wouldn't waste my time downloading it even if it was free, and if it's such a big deal, don't download anything.
The past 3-4 times i have gotten on XBL i have had no problems and even in the month of December when i tried i really only had a problem one day and it lasted all of an hour.

Yes, people do take things seriously when you have to spend money on it. Are you seriously happy with your Xbox Live Service lately? (If you have it)
All my friends got it for the holidays and stuff, but oh guess what! I still haven't had a day decent enough to play with them, since something is ALWAYS wrong.

I've had my live subscription for about 5 months now and i still don't have any complaints about it. There has only been one day, even counting december, that i had a little trouble getting on and then it only lasted about an hour.
But like i said you pay $50 and it's good for 12 months, actually 13 because you get a free month when you buy a year. This is only one month that it has been having problems and some people are acting like it's never going to get better. Xbox i'm sure is all over it and it will be running like normal in no time.
And Focus, when he quote's what i said and then make's a reply like that i'm sure his main focus was pointed at me, but i'm sure he was talking about other people as well. And trust me, i'm very "chilled".
And E. Writer, i'm not bitching about anything, i'm simply arguing in microsoft's defense i guess you can say. It is very easy for people to read a article (especially one like that, VERY well written) and take that person's side, but you have to look at it in every angle. I'm sure tons of people got live for christmas, or whatever holiday you celebrate. With all these new ad's i'm sure microsoft's server's got a little bogged down.

People pay $50 for live and it's good for a year, it's only been one month XBL has been having troubles like this, you people ***** and complain to much.

I complain because I paid for a months worth of XBL and only got about 2 days worth of it (the first day I got it and yesterday). And wont be able to play it for almost half a year come the 29th. I want my ****ing money back. But no, I get some ****** game that I will only be able to play for 2 weeks. And to top it all off, I was promised a month free when I got it but did not get it.
Just like the guy who wrote the letter said, if your phone company bearly worked for a month and only gave you 1 free call to make up for it, wouldn't you get a new company to supply your phone service? Maybe you like people stepping all over you and taking your hard earned money. But I sure as **** don't like it when it is my money that is paying for them to rob me.

Well I guess you are the ONLY person on these forums, and well...the internet who is not having problems.
But you also don't mind paying for your dashboard having ads, P2P multiplayer, and being able to access the same downloadable content that FREE Silver users get to have? We are paying for absolutely NOTHING. Ok, a unified friends list, but programs have had that for years just like that article said, and those have been free. I simply just don't comprehend what this 50 dollars a year is really DOING. Microsoft is getting money from 360 sales, from XBL fees, from companies paying for ad space, and from downloadable content. We don't benefit off it at all.
Several games on the playstation network have dedicated servers, such as Warhawk, Resistance, Unreal Tournament 3, and etc. UT3 even supports mods, that you won't get on XBL. Also, some new Resistance 2 info came out, and it will have 60 PLAYER MULTIPLAYER. That many players would NEVER be able to run properly on a P2P connection.
So PSN offers things for free, when we don't get them for XBL even when we pay? Yah the PS3 doesn't have in-game XMB, but that has been confirmed to be coming out sometime. So what advantages will XBL have over PSN then?
The more and more PSN gets updated, the more and more XBL users will see what they are TRUELY paying for...NOTHING. They are going to want something in return after awhile, or else the XBL userbase will start to get smaller. Why should they have to pay a monthly fee, and have to pay for 98% of downloadable content? They can't even fix their service after 4 weeks of it being ****ed up.

Well i can see why you would be complaing, but people that have the year subscription shouldn't be all that upset. Like i said numerous times, it's only been ****ed up 1 month. I've been logging in and out all day today and i am yet to see a problem. And no, i don't like people stepping all over me, but it's $50 that i spent about 5 months ago, it's gone and has been gone for a while, so i'm not going to start complaing about it now. However, i do agree with you, you'r situation sucks but if you really want a month for free PM me and i will give you a month subscription that came with my new xbox, i don't plan on using it anytime soon due to the fact that i have another many month's left on my year subscription and when that run's out i don't plan on buying another one.

I don't care if i'm the only person on this forum, let alone this planet. I still don't get people complaing about dashboard ads. You pay for cable so you can watch your television and there are endless amounts of ads there but i don't hear about anyone complaing about them, it's just a way for a business or a person to promote their products, so us the consumers will buy them.

No ill will. But we're debating and discussing the problems with XBoX Live's service and lack there of and what our monthly or yearly payments actually provide for us why they sit back and offer up everything and anything with a price tag. You're bascially a newer member, so comin to this thread and stating that people are bitching and complaining too much, won't go over so well on this forum. Especially since most of us are long time members that have had excessive problems with Microsoft and it's services.
I've observed that many subscribers that play in the wee hours of the morning aren't experiecing many problems if any. A subscriber such as myslef plays during peak EST hours, and that's been the problem. I pay for a service, that I can only enjoy at certain times because of my routine life and work schedule.
I could very easily wipe my hands of XboX and cut them off altogether, especially with what I personally have gone through with them. But I choose to believe in and support their product despite mutiple issues. I really wanted to comment on your previous first post, but I was hungover and in a very bad mood, so I'm glad I waited. Last night I got me a little something.... something..... which makes me want to explain this issue too you in a more civilized way.
Have a Nice Weekend

Just because i am a new member to these fourms does not mean that i am new to gaming, or new to the xbox. I don't play that much due to the fact that i have to go to school and work full time, but on day's off and break's i play a good amount of time. In the past 5-6 years that i have owned a microsoft console i really can't speak ill of it. I have had the xbox 360 basically since the day it came out and i love it. Like i said before i've had live for about 5 month's now and i still haven't had an issue arise to where i even thought about cancelling my sucscription or anything of the sort.
Also the ad's on the dashboard that seems to have everyone on edge, don't bother me. Ad's are everywhere you look whether you pay for them or not, there is no escaping them. So XBL is having problems, what company dosen't expirence some difficulties?
I would also like to come back to the comment you made about me being new ot the forums and what i say not going over very well. Never in any of my post's did i mean to make it a point to offend or upset anyone, and if i have i apologize. I've seen the time most of you guy's have been at this forum and i think that it's great that you have been able to stay together as long as you have, i really do.

I never said that you are new to gaming or the box. I was just trying to shed some light on the sitchiation. It's just like when I fart ...Yeah it may stink bad for a few seconds but shortly afterwards it's completely forgotten about.

The problems seem to be going away. I got on last night around 11 PM EST, took about a minute for the dash to get signed in, but after that I was able to ask Nun for a COD4 invite, and he dissed me for Rock Band.
