I have seen the graphics recently, while observing my friend who was playing the game. I still hold by my statement that they are not as up-to-date as other, better constructed, free games.

They are the worst :)
The game play isn't enjoyable either.
I used to play because it was free. What a waste of time :)
And my friend who still plays was recently talking about how they removed PVP.
Not a good game at all.

Key words "browser based". That automaticly means it sucks.

Ya, I remember people playin in like 6-7th grade.... It could never play for more than 20 minutes at a time.... mostly because all you do is right click- click... and you get BORED....

I used to play it... A lot. back when I was 7-9th grade it used to be one of my favorite games. I am not really into graphics or fast paced gameplay so that aspect didn't bother me about the game. To tell you the truth, I kinda do like that all the people that do play are younger kids that don't know what they are doing. That is because older people have a certain advantage. This shows in the extreme polarization of wealth in the game. Which I kinda like.
That being said, the game is really not that good. The only way that the game keeps you hooked is the leveling system. All the game is about is leveling. All you ever do is train, train, train... Sure recently they have come up with a few mini games, but the basic premise is still the same. Moreover, leveling isn't even all that important. It is better to get crabby skills and good weapons and armour than to earn your strength through skills. An example of what I am talking about is that I myself was a 73 miner and blacksmithe (pretty impressive to say the least) but I got nothing for getting those skills so high. The only way I could get any reward was if I reached level 99 (the maximum) which was when I would be able to smith remotely good items. There was no incentive to even continue, no driving force.
In the end, what ruined the game for me was that some skills where broken and others were too overpowered. There was very small diversity in the combat and leveling systems. There was only three ways to fight. Mage, combat, and range. (by the way they were not perfectly balanced to say the least) and leveling was all about clicking away your day. the game also gets to a certain point where leveling takes ridiculous amounts of experience. In the end, the game is addicting, not fun, which is what I realized at the end of my 9th-10th grade summer before I quit.

Yea... It was really good game up until a few months back when they removed pk and put a trade limit update. That literally ruined RuneScape.

I would have done that years ago. I think I was offered $50.
