Combined Assault progressive scan help
Hello, everytime I start the game I get a message saying my TV can support progressive scan as I am using component cables.

For some reason when I enable it, the picture gets squashed and doesn't fill the screen, and when I'm playing the game bits are in the wrong place... eg the picture of the gun is two inches above the ammo count (it should be side by side).

Progressive scan works fine with the ps2 dvd player, so i'm confused.

My TV is a 26" LG LCD.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

EDIT: I should add I'm in the UK with a PAL version of the game. (No option in the menu, you just get a message asking to turn it on, just before the title screen)

Same to me. Every time I load the game, it always ask if I want a progressive scan. I had to say yes every time it loads. By the way, are you using 480p? I'm using 1080 because I have a 42 inch HDTV.

Why do you have to say yes?

I don't really understand what you mean...it will either be displayed in 576i, or 480p.

If I change it to 480p (progressive scan option) the screen parts really mess up.

Do your pictures, fonts etc go wrong?

Uncheck 480p in your video settings fo your PS3 and enable upscaling and smoothing.

He's not using a ps3, he's using a PS2. 480p doesn't really exist in PAL territories as far as I know, since 480i is a NTFS standard... SOCOM developers probably didn't think of that, I'd just play in 576i.

What the hell is 576i? LOL...I have a samsung 56inch DLP and I was having trouble adjusting the screen size until I stumbled on that progressive scan thingy...LOL...I'm running an HDMI cable to my PS3 and it still works fine...no line trouble garbage at all...get a PS3 and use your PS2 as a drink coaster...LOL...j/k.
