Just thought I would vent some anger I have been putting up with, regarding my OXM subscription... hope some of you enjoy this.
So... I get
OXM issue 76 in the mail a few weeks ago, and the games on the demo disc just flat out refuse to load... and before the questions are asked, yes... I sure did give them extra time to load... needless to say, it was a complete waste of my time giving these crap demo copies extra time to load!
It turns out that only Stranglehold, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, Stuntman: Ignition, Bomberman: Live, and Wing Commander Arena decided to load properly... I was totally azzed out on getting the chance to play Ace Combat 6 (but the video looks mice!), FEAR FIles, or The Darkness.
At this point, I say "eff it!" and just run the POS demos to unlock the on-disc points to get all of the hidden things (gamerpics, themes, concept art, etc.) on their POS discs, that is, after I have to routinely reboot my 360 just to get back to the start of their POS disc.
This evening... I walk in the door of my house... after a long day at work and class... and I have the new
OXM sitting on my coffee table...
with a GH3 demo on it, no less!!! Lemme tell you... I think it's the fastest that I've ever ripped open a piece of cellophane, and pulled a CD from its paper case... only to load this POS disc in my 360, and get some wacky message that I've never seen before about needing to load a "genuine" 360 game in there for it to read... this message came after seeing a graphic display on the screen, which very much reminded me of the retail Xbox 360 cases... like this, for example:
On their website, you can request a different disc if the one you've just received is junky... which, according to their schlep website, should be in about 4-6 weeks... well whooptie friggin' do... I'll already have the new GH3 by that time!!!
I mean... it's right for me to feel wronged by this magazine, right? Is it too much to ask that in this day and age, we as consumers should be able to get things that work properly???
First it starts with having to blow air into our NES games in order to get them to load correctly... then it's having to turn the PS1 upside down in order to get it to play correctly... then it's the "disc read error" debacle with the PS2... then we have the many errors of the 360 to have to deal with... it seems like this B.S. vicious circle might never end.
