I understand people like playing with "squad tactics". Unfortunately though, nearly all "squad tactics" in this game are a group of players camping a certain Doorway/pathway. Real squads do not exist in this game.

1. I've been with the SOCOM series a long time..and it's currently the sole reason why I'm buying a PS3. Show me a little respect. I do know what I'm talking about here.
2. I've also been with Halo since the beginning, and It's not about respecting other members..since I showed no disrespect, it's about recommending a game that is quite simply BETTER for playing Run'n'Gun. Halo matches are fast paced and vicious
I don't want to turn this into a flame thread or an arguement..so I'll leave it at that and I hope you will too.

3. Real squads do exist in the game. You just have to find a group that knows what team work is. As for camping a certain area? "It is not the duty of the defender to leave the objective unguarded just so his opponent sucks less."
If your opponent is dumb enough to keep throwing himself at a wall of bullets, why not stay put and let him come to you? You obviously have the advantage, It would be stupid to throw it away just because an unskilled gamer can't figure out where to throw a grenade or how to flank an opponent.

SOCOM 3 and CA are perfect games to set up a "more realistic" squad-based combat situation. I know this from experience, my friends list is populated primarily of those gamers I've come across that are actually into that style. My own clan is composed of only those types.
(coincidently..now recruiting a Marksman!)

Back to the subject at hand. In my opinion, the best Run'n'Gun games on SOCOM now are the ones that have handguns and assault rifles turned off. I can go all day with submachine guns and shotguns, with grenades for added fun :) The only map I don't recommend grenades for is Fault, It's just a little too imbalanced against the SEALs unless you know how to effectively use smoke as cover to get out of that pit.
In fact the most enjoyable (Again, in my opinion) are Shotguns only on Fault and Killing fields and Subs only on Devil's road (all small maps)
