Socom: Advanced Warfighter. that should be the name. lol. if it plays like GRAW, it should be a good game no matter the map. shadows are better. and stuff. but looks the same.
btw........ geeez, looking at the S2 pics you can tell how much of a downgrade in graphs S3 was. S2 = photorealistic-ish, S3= MS paint colors.lol.

Oh well, small loss.
And I don't think any game will ever surpass SOCOM: II.
What I would love to see someday is just a straight up Re-Release of SOCOM: II online, with updated graphics and the customizations for weapons and characters. That would sell like hotcakes.

I would love to have a game that comes out with the large maps weapon customization, as well as the smaller s1 and s2 maps. Basically everything from all socoms in one game, then the complaining would stop. I know it is a pipe dream, but it would be cool

Socom 1 was the best one. If you were around then you would know and agree. It revolutionized the online gaming community and (gasp) people died with 1-3 shots!!! S2 marks the dawn of the health bar which has paved the way for the rest of the unrealistic ******** in the rest. With any luck Slant-Six has already fixed this and continues to update the kickass maps we love for the NEXT-GEN Socom. Sure S2 added great maps and weapons but if you remember S1 you cloudn't put it down. S2 you kinda couldn't put it down. S3 you could take it or leave it. S:CA is like being married to you high school sweetheart, I mean do you even know anything else? If you get my meaning.
Ps The PSP Socoms' are impressive as hell online.

I played S1 as much as anyone and it was, by far, not the best game.
The cheating was worse than all online games combined. The lag was also terrible. The only good things about it were the hit detection and the sound of the weapons.

Another old school S1 player right here, too!
Very good points, and I agree with them all... Socom 2 was the best of the bunch, in my opinion. If it didn't look so dated, by the current "next gen" standards, I'd probably play it more often.

I think the only thing that keeps me on CA are the people. My clan, my buddy list, etc.
On S2 I don't think I would have any fun because none of the people I know play it. That and I would have to buy a new memory card.

ok i mentioned this in the other section but doesn't anyone know about the camera angle for socom Confrontation? i read that slant 6 made it off to the side not the direct center and when you go in first person you see the weapon to your left not in center...
and also when s3 came out like a month before there was beta version all over ebay will this happen for this game?
and one last thing.... socom 2 was the best lol
and also the sky looks awesome in confrontation i always wondered y games like halo have that ring in the sky for clouds... although who cares about the sky besides me.. lol
