The old one will be better. I guarentee it.

In crossroads, they will probably try to camp the places that are camped sometimes now (both bases, fishmart and redroom, spawn points, the dead ends, maybe even do what I did in S2 and hide under a tent in the market), but with 32 people on a slightly expanded map designed for 16 players originally, in addition to the lack of foliage and easily camped places that were rampant in Socom 3, the campers will soon get owned, pick up a gun, and use their legs for the first time in years.

The only thing we have to worry about now is snipers, while we could dodge them back in socom 2, the smoke/fog/mist/haze has been removed now, along with the lack of the quick-prone-and-jump techniques, it's going to be hard to dodge them. Smokes will come in handy along with grenades, and you can always clear the spawn point by using the middle areas to your advantage like we did back in SOCOM: II.
We do NOT have to worry about snipers in Crossroads. In Socom 2 there were only two areas per team that would be worth sniping. With the new additions to the map, I doubt anyone will snipe. It would be like sniping on Frostfire. A person would do it every now and then, but I think we will see very little this time around.

Well said. None of you have played the map before, or even see all of it. To judge something before even witnessing it is very ignorant.

I for one think the new map will be better. Crossroads was great (I'm glad it's coming back) but it needed a face lift.

Nuh-uh! I was crafty and snup from so may sweet little spots in CR that nobody knew of...for example to the left of the seal spawn down the road, next to dumpster looking in towards the bomb, or directly below the belltower in the courtyard......sorry.....crossroads memories got me all worked up. This is gunnabe sweet.

As I said, one player would show up who would snipe, but on the whole, I strongly feel sniping in Crossroads will be very rare.

Plus, with twice the amount of people, it will be too hard to snipe.

That depends. If the SEALs rush the right alley like some always do (where the grenades fall, that corner), and if you can see that alley from the spawn, it's going to be like shooting fish in a chokepoint (lol @ my lame attempt to change a cliché phrase). And if people use the buddy system more often, it's gonna be even more effective.

True, providing that's what people will do in every game. Suppose the map has changed to not allow a full view from corner to corner. Plus, they said several alleys and other means of getting to a place in the mpa have changed.

None of us can really argue whether or not snipers will exist in the new Crossroads, so it's a bit pointless. However, I have a feeling they will cease to exist.

For the record, the alley will have a full view to the end, or at least in the latest build. Check out the dissection thread.

But I do agree, crystal balling is lame.

Sure, but that's only one side out of four possible alleys. With all the aded alleys and new areas they claim have been added, I really don't think that snipers will be all over the place.
