Sweet. If anyone watched the video thingy of Socom Confrontation game play they have cross roads back just new and improved. It looks sweet with the graphics and all the new stuff. Now I just need a PS3.

You haven't played the newer version of it yet. Everyone loves original crossroads but I'm sure this is the same with some added features so you may love this one as well.

Why would it be a campfest? Crossroads isn't a camping map, theres too many ways to get shot from behind. If you want to camp you either need a lot of mines, some friends, or the terrorist spawn point (which is very hard to cover alone).

Besides, the days of SOCOM 3 is over. Rejoice!

Just because Socom 3 is over doesn't mean people will stop camping. Socom 3 brought about a "new" playstyle..maybe not new, but definitely made it a lot more mainstream. Just because a new game comes out doesn't mean the playstyle dies...take the transition from Socom 2 to Socom 3. Socom 2 camping wasn't really mainstream, not nearly as much as it was now. Socom 3 game out, and the game was fun as hell because people ran around the map learning it and actually tried killing people. As time progressed people stopped running around, stopped rushing, and started camping. Now some maps pretty much force you to camp(tidal fury demo SEALs, anyone?) but others people can run around just fine. Just like when CA came out..the camping from S3 transferred over to CA. Hell, the FIRST NIGHT that CA came out and I went into rooms with CA maps, people camped their asses off. It pissed me off to no end that people did that..the first night the game is out and people don't even bother to learn the maps?(besides what's in their spawn of course).

I'll definitely predict that this playstyle will carry over to Confrontation..it's just a matter of time after the game comes out to see if people will still do it, or if the maps will make camping hard to do thus making it less mainstream.(Kinda like how Socom 1 and 2 were)

I don't doubt that at first some people will try to camp like they do in 3/CA, especially the newer people who never played S1/S2. In crossroads, they will probably try to camp the places that are camped sometimes now (both bases, fishmart and redroom, spawn points, the dead ends, maybe even do what I did in S2 and hide under a tent in the market), but with 32 people on a slightly expanded map designed for 16 players originally, in addition to the lack of foliage and easily camped places that were rampant in Socom 3, the campers will soon get owned, pick up a gun, and use their legs for the first time in years.

The only thing we have to worry about now is snipers, while we could dodge them back in socom 2, the smoke/fog/mist/haze has been removed now, along with the lack of the quick-prone-and-jump techniques, it's going to be hard to dodge them. Smokes will come in handy along with grenades, and you can always clear the spawn point by using the middle areas to your advantage like we did back in SOCOM: II.
