Same 'ol thing
Got pearl, i must say i was disappointed. They could have really done better with it, and only being able to battle with your friend codes? Nintendo is really being stupid with this children safety thing, it should be up to parents to limit them, not the company. Also, i think the graphics could be better, they could have pulled this barley beyond the GBA

Being able to battle with friend codes is the same way for every DS game. It SHOULD be up to the company as well as the parents. Think about it, if a parent sets the guidlines and the child gets around them and somehow ends up being pulled in by an internet predator, Nintendo is going to get lawsuits. That was just one example, this is why Nintendo is taking things into their own hands. I also found that the graphics were by far the best in the Pokemon franchise.

Don't mean to barge in but actaully yes alot of DS games have the whole friend code thing.

But there are DS games that you can play world wide. Meaning you don't have to have a friend code from another person. You can just go on and who ever is availiable to play will show up. I noticed that in Pokemon you had to have someones friend code to battle on Wifi. A t least battling someone some where else.

At least its what I noticed. As for the Parental thing...................... I never had any problems with that. ???? It never stopped me from doing anything.

You are one of the very few that I've seen agree (or seem to agree) with the use of friend codes, or in general, limitations set forth by the company itself. It does make perfect sense, but no one seems to realize that.

I also agree; the graphics were relatively outstanding, but they should never be one of the franchise's major selling points -- it's the gameplay!

You must have either a wireless router or a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector which connects to your PC. You can also use a wi-fi "hot spot" found at various commercial locations, such as McDonald's. I think Starbucks provides wi-fi, but I've never been inside one. =)

Edit: Wow, I didn't realize how old this thread was.
