How does ranking system work?

I usually would not care for this... but one of my accounts is sitting at rank 7-10 on my server.

What I don't understand is...

even when my team wins and i get a 2:1 kill ratio, sometimes i lose points.. and sometimes i gain points..

I never quit any games.

Would someone please fill me in on how it works.... ty

one more question:
If you disconnect, does that lose you points? Cause all the top ranks have heaps and heaps of dc's.

It works like this:

Your kills/Total kills (team) * Total kills (both teams) ^1.n(n=your deaths/your assists [not shown]) - Shots fired/Accuracy * Your cumulative score

Take that number and divide it into your global average to find your score for the round.
