Its pointless to give tips and advice to people if you start your post with
"dont listen to what ANYONE says."
but, anyways....
1. Know the weapons. Different snipers systems deal different amount of damage, have different rates of fire. Furthermore, know what kind of wobbeling you'll get in your scope once you zoom in. It might be very hard to accurately sniper
standing with a .50cal riffle (ELR/M82), but
with an m40, you get very little wobbeling in your sights even when standing.
2.Accuracy prone > accuracy crouched > accuracy standing. self explanatory, but still : your more accurate prone then crouched, and more accurate crouched then standing.
3.When zoomed in, dont chase your target. Pretty much anyone can hit a motionless target. But then again, that doesnt happen as often as you'd like (in a game), so in order to hit moving targets, instead of zooming in and trying to hit the center of my x-hairs on the running man as he's moving, i put my x-hairs a bit in front of the target, and shoot when he runs into it. This is farily easy if your target is running perfectly sideways (from left to right/right to left on your screen, or even easier if your mark is running straight towards you. what you'll probably want to focus on at first is getting the timing right (fireing the gun at the right time) but mostly getting use to putting your x-hairs in the path of your target (for the majority of the shots you'll be taking, the target is actually gonna move diagonnally on ur screen). I dont know if i explained this concept clearly enuff, but it worked wonders for me.
4.Lastly, learned to snipe for yourself. By this i mean, be mindfull of the tips and tricks others (myself included) will give you. Something that works great for me might not to shiznit for you.
as far as what i read in
this thread, i didnt find any rights or wrongs. In socom, what gets you killed is wrong, what gets you kills is right (glitching and cheating being put aside here).
