I'm in the same situation... I purchased mine last April, which was supposedly Microsoft's second "generation" of Xbox 360s.

Imagine how I felt getting mine in early December of 06 and upon the SECOND time playing RSV i heard a "crrrrrrrdfasdlfkjsd;lfkJ" noise, and lo and behold the game wouldn't read because of a circular scratch. And yadayada, you've all heard my story before so I won't go into more detail, but that there almost made me throw it against the wall.

I've already said if it breaks again i'm recording me throwing it against my wall down here.

That's the smartest thing I've heard yet. Let me throw more money at Microsoft so my stuff can break left and right. Buying another console just means, now you have two to worry about breaking, which as everyone knows, well should anyway, is GOING to happen.

No intended offense to you or any others on this board,but you don't really deserve to talk about the Elite with such disrespect to Microsoft without even knowing that the launch problems of the 360(like the overheating,and the random crashes) aren't included in the Elite Model of the 360.And I also don't think you should be posting here if a new recruit like me is the first one to inform you of that info.

Ohhhh, look at this smart guy! The Elite has all of the SAME problems the other 360s have. Just like all the other ones, the ELITE is a frail, cheap, easily breakable peice of hardware that has just as good of a chance of having hardware failure compared to all the other 360s. They did nothing to prevent this. Go praise the Elite and Microsoft somewhere else if your going to get all snippy at people, just because it costs more and it is called the ELITE doesn't mean it wont break. It is virtually an IDENTICAL machine with a bigger hardrive and useless HDMI ports and yadayadayada. Oh, and PS, YOUR ELITE WILL BREAK!

But when it does, DONT WORRY, help is on the way!



We all know EVERY 360 has a chance of breaking, INCLUDING the Elites. You dont go to other forums, where people have been at longer then you, telling people they are stupid/dont know anything/misinformed. Or atleast you could do it in a polite manner, but, you would still be wrong.

Look above and read my very first sentence,I started off with "no intended offense to you or any others on this board" and I went on to politely inform someone of the Elite not having the same problems as the normal 360s.I never called him stupid or anything even remotely related to that and like I said,I meant no offense with anything said in my earlier post.

Also,I never said the Elite won't crash,but the problems with overheating and crashing are launch problems and have been dealt with already so it's obvious that the Elites don't have them.

You are very misinformed. I do not, have a launch system, I have a 360 with the same exact innards as an Elite. There's nothing special about it, it's still a standard 360 using the same crappy hardware. All the launch problems and all the new problems that are ongoing (like peoples 360's being rendered useless by the spring update), are still going. There is a 100% awareness of the fact to this. I've had 5 now, this will be my 6th, my console has been replaced 3 times with a brand new one. All of which were the "new" and "fixed" hardware, none of which were. The Elite is going to be just as crappy as the Pro and Core. I still love my xbox and the software, but the hardware is complete crap, it lasts all of 6 months tops most of the time. My last one lived to be 2 months with about 6 hours on it.
