It might not be possible due to limitations in Socom itself. The PS3 HDD probably isn't a storage device that the game is compatible with.

I found out you have to use the USB drive in order to get the downloaded maps to work. I highly doubt this would use a firmware update, but maybe a patch fro SOCOM 3.

I dunno bout this....the ps3 hdd isnt the same as the ps2 hdd....i mean for whatever reason sony decided you cant put a memory card in the machine and transfer your memory to the HDD i have no clue...you have to actually "trick" the PS2 games into thinking there is a memory card by allocating a section on the PS3 HDD as a Memory Card and assign it a slot....so i can see why you cant save map packs to the hdd in this respect...but why didnt sony think of this when they developed...i have no clue...i have had to restart on CA and that sux!

yea most likely a patch from socoms side, but when i mention that it should be fix on the next firmware update. i ment that sony should allow the ps3 HDD to be recognised as a ps2 hdd, Since its already tricking the game into thinking it has an 8mb memory card. Not just for socom, but generally speaking for all the games that allow downloadable content with new levels and maps ... i mean come on guys its Socom one of their best selling games, they should have atleast thought of it
