Grand Theft Auto IV

GTA IV is scheduled to be released on 10-16-07. There are next to no details available at the present moment, but it has been rumored that GTA IV will be mulit-player (according to the websites and forums I have read). It will be released on all the systems in October. Enjoy the wonderful news!

Hopefully some co-op missions, eh? I hate the two player setup for San Andreas. You can't even go that far apart from each other and the absence of a split-screen makes it very difficult to see your character (especially at night in very dark areas). I bet that they will use the same ideas for online play as they did in Vice City Stories for the PSP. Can't wait to get some solid info on it.

My guess is that you're gonna play a character of some criminal background and you'll have to perform some criminal activities.

True true... but that's what makes the game soooooo much fun.

I've said it many times to other people... Saints Row has officially raised the bar for these kind of games. Which is a good thing, because I think Rockstar could use the newfound "inspiration" to make GTAIV tons better than San Andreas, Vice City, or GTAIII before it!!!

I, personally, can't wait for this game to come out... good thing there are plenty of other awesome and above average games to play in between then and now.

Put it this way, it will be the best selling game ever when it is released. I put 10 e-Dollars on it.

I cant wait for this game. I have known about it for some time, but the lack of details made me worried about the release date. I saw the official website a few months back but its just telling us about the release date and is "busting myths" about the game.

I will definitely preorder this if I am still in the US when it comes out. Probably get it pre-ordered around 1 month before release.

I will also say this, it needs to be better than San Andreas. I know I played that game a lot, but it seriously lacks.... style?

C'mon now... of course it will (at the very least) be better than San Andreas. I already think Saints Row was better than San Andreas... I'm pretty sure Rockstar has taken notice, and they will have to make the attempt at raising the very same bar (that Saints Row's raised) above and beyond Saints Row.

Competition like this is awesome... remember how bland Madden games were getting until 2K Sports started taking off? Then it started to get more innovative...

I also forgot to mention that I think the multiplayer will definitely be better than San Andreas' "multiplayer"... I consider San Andreas' multiplayer to be more of a co-op, so I use the term loosely.

maybe i'm the only one, but personally i don't think the gta series really needs multiplayer. actually i think multiplayer detracts from a games overall appeal. i've yet to see a single game on any system that had both an 100% online AND offline feel. one or the other are left lacking due to the developers putting too much emphasis on one or the other.

saints row MIGHT have been the one game to pull it off, BUT, i think my (and everyone elses) judgement was clouded by the fact that from the loading screen on it was automatically compared to san andreas in almost every aspect.

i don't know, we'll all have to wait and see in october, but i for one plan on seeing first hand for myself as soon as humanly possible. as a matter of fact i'm going to go check a few websites now and see if it's possible to pre-order yet.
