Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3)

According to the EGM Poll, this is by far the most anticipated game for the PS3. And it is suppose to be out the same day as launch.

Just looking at those alone.. Shows PS3 will be more powerful then 360.

There's no doubt in my mind that this game looks fantastic, and if I were to get a PS3 at launch, this would be the one game that I'd get for it... but I wouldn't go as far as to say that it shows the PS3 is "more powerful" than the 360. Or even the Wii for that matter... pretty bold claim, if you ask me... that's all I am saying.

IGN's review gives it a 9.1. Check out the screenshots on there. Amazing.

Oh, someone besides me noticed that too? Well that's good to hear. Also in the review the guy said that there was nothing wrong with the game accept for a few things.

1) Breathing spots- An area where there is no action whatsoever and it's just a break from all the chaos.

2) Graphics- The graphics aren't the best ever, but they aren't crappy either. In total the graphics got an 8.5.

Those were the only complaints I found and that's a very good thing. Too bad some of the people in IGN boards think 9.1 isn't good enough (funny). But it's a release title, got a 9.1 and got labeled the PS3's killer-app, I'm very pleased.

I'm getting it (if you couldn't tell already) and can go pick it up right now, but have no transportation (Mom at work and too cold to walk). I'll either go up tomorrow or later tonight, or if nothing else I'll just go get it on Friday with my PS3 (if they don't sell it....).

My little review of my few days testing this.

I played the following on the ps3,
OffLine- Single player, CO-OP 2 player, CO-OP 3 player.
Online- as single player. Were still not sure you can split the screen online yet.

Anyway i like the 3rd player view most. Socom, 25 to life etc.
So i Go into this half hearted. To start off I LOVE the new L/R 2 buttons. The feel is natural. Now i'm thinking WW2/ALIEN THEME, how fun can this be? LOL
Well starting off in the OFFLINE CO-OP 2 player mode, We get used to the game. After some time we go online. ONLINE Seems to feel like HALO a bit. We go back to the Offline to practice more. Now the 2nd day, we do a CO-OP 3 Player mode. TV was a 32" reg, he's got a 50" plasma but said the reg. cables on that look crapy. Now we do a 3 WAY CO-OP setup. TOP half of tv is player 1, Bottom half was split even between 2. The 3rd player never played yet, but is doing well. I notice the AI of the ALIENS seem REALLY GREAT. I'm thinking a can hide and shhot, but nope they spin around fast. We noticed you need to battle them from different angles. THIS WAS UNEXPECTED. Playing for about 3 hours more was a blast. I can say this is a FUN 1ST player view game. I can't say too much more yet, due to the fact i didn't check the game guide out. But i might pick up the game this week for ps2. to check out what else it can do. SO I SAY GIVE IT A SHOT, Rent if for sure. FUN GAME and MORE FUN WITH FRIENDS.

I'll just let you know right now, you can't play online split-screen.

At least we'll have something to look forward to in the sequel.

Its fun as hell. Just love seeing the scorpion chimera coming after you realllly fast. Just shoot the **** out of em. OMG, one time me and my partner walked around a corner in a tunnel and stumbled on to a nest reminisant of the alien movie, and all the pods bursted open and we had to fight off like 30 of the bastards. I'm now at the level called "Angel" and have only played co-op for the offline part of it. Love fighting the bigger creatures. Online is the best to hit the playstation since socom 2. So fun. Liked capture the flag best, especially as a chimera with an auger.

I have a question:

I've been playing the cooperative mission for what seems like forever now... but something weird happened today. While playing up until yesterday, the split screen was top and bottom, and now it's left and right. It seems like this happened by itself (as I didn't change any settings that I can recall)... has this happened to anyone else? I find it slightly annoying with the left and right thingy going on, but it's not anything I can't learn to live with, I guess.

I have't gotten a chance to play much games online other than the respawns. Hopefully soon though!

So far, it's the best game I've played on the PS3...
