Actually you can do it now with tv's that have.. dlp technology I think.. you can split the screen into as many inputs as there are on the TV. My friend can watch tv and play socom at the same time. Its pretty sweet

1. Make sure you have your CAT5 CROSSOVER cable properly plugged
in the NETWORK ADAPTER.

2. Make sure that both PS2's have downloaded the "Patch", as if you had
just purchased the game and went online, save it to your memory
card.

3. On the MAIN MENU select the LAN feature, then EDIT SETTINGS and
then CREATE SETTING.

4. Then go to the IP ADDRESS portion of the set up screen and enter
the following for the 1st PS2:
IP ADDRESS: 10. 10. 10. 1
SUBNET MASK: 255. 255. 255. 0
ROUTER: 10. 10. 10. 1

5. The 2nd PS2's settings shoud be as follows:
IP ADDRESS: 10. 10. 10. 2
SUBNET MASK: 255. 255. 255. 0
ROUTER: 10. 10. 10. 2

6. To test the connection both PS2's must press X at the SAME time to
test the connection! It will then say it is successful!

7. Now all that is left is to create a game, load up, and send some rounds
down range!!

There you have it, real easy! Now remember what LtGen Chesty Puller
said, " You don't hurt em, if you dont hit em"

Marine702, over and out!
i thought if you had a "crossover cable" you didn't need a router?
