Disappointed with Single Player/CoOp post here!
I for one hate the single player. The fireteam is worse than ever as in that they don't do ****. They don't shoot unless I get killed and they always take round about roots. I say Hold Position and then when I tell them to Follow again they don't come where I went they take the most round about root and wreck my perfect stealth that I had maintained.


I don't think they could shoot from 10 feet away bus either.


I havn't tryed CoOp yet but I bet it would be better because you have other people that know how to play the game. That would be the only down fall is that if they didn't know how to play.


You hate the single player too? Post here

Well yea you'll probobly like the CoOp, it's lot's of fun. The terrorists are really good, they shoot you as soon as they see you unlike in s3 lol. If one of your teamates die you can give them a medkit and bring them back to life. It's fun.

Well if you play the single player on admiral they shoot right away too. You can also heal your teammates if they die but truthfully I would rather have them die.

The one good thing about CoOp is that your team will actually help you out.

The actual single player campaign levels are awesome and much more realistic settings wise...but again they sapped away any AI from your 3 and gave it all to the enemies. There's at least 1 glitch spot in every level I hit, whether its the 3 trailers in the Anchorage map, or they keep falling down and hurting 1/4 of their health at Retaliation map...And then, yes, they'll break hold fire on a guy 100 meters away but not follow Fire At Will from Point Blank.

I always order Simple to toss a grenade at Jester's feet...the part where you can't be more than 30 M away blows a lot of stealth tactics in the game.

I love the storyline for single player SO much. It's perfect. The storyline couldn't have been better at all. Where they screwed up was the AI. Last time I checked, SEALs were some of the best trained American forces. Anyone want to explain how a single terrorist can rape an entire SEAL team? They blew the SEAL AI, and over-did the terrorist. Although, in Zipper's defense, I'm sure they figured most people would do Co-op, instead of single player.

In a way I kind of like it though. Brings back a little of S1, you know, where you actually had to try in order to beat a mission...

I really liked the single player in CA, i find it alot better then the s3 single player.
I just wish there were more vehicles to drive in the single player part of it!!

The single player was terrible...you teammates had an innate nature of falling off cliffs and getting stuck in the most retarded places. However, i really enjoyed coop b/c my team no longer lacked the ability to "follow" and plus we could finish missions faster.

But the thing I hate most about single player is that if you get shot in a building, your teammates won't help you. Especially in blindside where there's the underground cave filled w/ shotgunning terr, if you get shot, your teammates watch you die.

Also the smoke was just dumb, if you threw it, it should also have the reverse effect on you also, temporarily blocking your view, rather than make it semi transparent and see yourself running around with some stupid mercenaries waiting to get knifed.

Another disappointment in single player/coop was the lack of vehicles in instant action missions. In hte single player Retaliation, you had to walk all the way across 7 times without vehicles and it was extremely tedious. It's dumb how they wouldn't give you even a simple scout vehicle w/o a turrent.

The biggest disappointment is when you finally unlock the r44m pistol, you cannot use it in multiplayer. The description of hte pistol is misleading, because it says you can use it in the classic maps. It took me a very, very long time to beat all the instant action missions and to find out all those hours were wasted, it caused an unpleasant reaction...

I'd have to second what Mr.Pan said. The single player is the worst in the series. Not because of the maps and stuff (most of them anyway), but because the AI is atrocious. Your team always ends up getting you into trouble rather than helping you. Its nice that you can direct them individually to do stuff like plant/defuse bombs and all that, but there is absolutely no way to maintain perfect stealth at all times because of things like your team being stuck on a ladder or running the long way around a building alerting enemies. You tell them to attack the enemies and they run into their bullets. You try to scope in to pick off some terrorists and your team walks in front of you while your shooting. Sometimes the team will even shoot through you to hit the target.
There's also a problem with enemies popping up and appearing right in front of you or even right behind you. I once was scoped in trying to kill enemies across the room and jester calls out an enemy. I look at the radar and it shows a red dot right on top of us. I turn around and there's jester and a terrorist standing together just staring at each other. And at other times, the enemies seem to have eyes in the back of their heads or supersonic hearing--they can see you before you see them.
I'm sure they built this game for the co-op mode and half-as$ed the single-player because it really shows. There's so much content but playing it alone is worthless. If you dont play games online, this is a total waste of money in my opinion. They could've at least upgraded and tuned some of the features before just rehashing old clunky gameplay with new maps.

The AI is def. the worst I have seen. I was playing yesterday and I was prone going up these stairs to get to a balcony to snipe about 6 terr. guarding the power station. I had maintained perfect stealth all the way till this point....then KillJoy desides to stand up like a ****ing moron and get lit up by the turret. Then he opens fire and dies like an idiot. There is no "Get Down" command so I couldn't tell the dumb**** to get down.

Then I am shooting at a terr. and jester runs right in front of me. I shoot him by accident and then my team turns on me and kills me.

Another one of my favorites I tell my team to "Take Down" an enemy and they say "Sorry sir but hell no" or "How the heck do you expect me to do that" and the guy is right in front of them. Then the terr. starts shooting and my guys let me die before they shoot. Its like they have to get shot before they want to fight.

My most favorite is when you tell them to throw smoke or a gernade and they run out into the wide open and toss it there. ****ING THROW IT FROM WHERE YOU ARE!

By far the worst socom single player ever.

I agree with everything said here. I haven't gotten online yet, I will when I get home for winter break from school. I'm trying to beat the single player right now. It's much more difficult than 2 and 3. 2 and 3 were rediculously easy. But yea, enemy AI seems intermittent in this game, you'll be prone, in a bush, a mile away and suddenly an enemy with an AK starts shooting at you and hitting you... with an AK from a mile away. All I say is "Ok seriously... how does he see me?" other times, I can walk right up behind an enemy and knife him. I like the way you can seperate Bravo, but christ, now to command Jester I have to say "Able 2 move to..." etc... like what if I say "Able 1" am I commanding myself who I'm controlling? How retarded. Your team is awful, they have NO intelligence what so ever. CONSTANTLY will they fire at an enemy from a prone position and ALL of their rounds will just keep hitting an obstruction! They get on a ladder and can't slide down it like me... instead they fall and injure themselves! Simple... your "Expert Marksmen" Bravo member can't hit the broad side of a barn with a sniper rifle, giving any member of your team a sniper rifle is pointless because they can't snipe. they'll fire off 10 rounds from it and you'll zoom in to find the enemy hasn't even been hit. Why was the "Get Down" command taken away too? And like the other guy said, you tell them to throw a smoke grenade over a wall so you can go clear the room and they'll walk into the middle of the enemy filled room and throw it... WTF? Navy SEALs? HAHAAHA. What a joke. After Socom II I've eagerly anticipated every follow up... and I've been heartily dissapointed in both of them. Zipper has ruined it, especially CA with this stupid T rating taking away every piece of violence. The only violence is what you create, god knows your team wont shoot anyone. The ONLY cool thing about CA IMO is the way that your first couple **SPOILER ALERT** missions involve your teamates from previous games... all those worthless guys like Vandal... and they didn't even get the same voice actor that did Vandal in II for this one. Stupid.
