Blow up Helicopters?

is it possible to blow up a helicopter without a at-4 or something because i'm on the one mission where we have to extract from the rooftop and the enemy and i can't get rid of the helo..

You can also put your crosshairs on the helo and hit the L2 which will order you team to take it down. I believe someone else on the team carries a rocket. Just make sure the helo is pretty close to them or else they'll just stare at it as it flies by.

And yes you can just shoot it too.

i left my whole team down in the room so they wouldn't get killed and i went up on the roof alone because i had cleared it already earlier in the mission......i used my m14 in first person view on single shot kept to cover, leaned out and aimed at the fusel lage just below the rotor and i took in down with a little less than one mag.
