Rendering in Vegas
I've had a lot of people over time ask my what my rendering settings are, and I don't think I've ever posted it. I just gave them to someone exactly, so I figured I could post and hopefully help out anyone who thinks their videos are too big.
These settings will give you approximately 10mb per minute. A 3 minute video will be about 30mb.
When you go to render and click custom there's tabs at the bottom this is in that order...
Project:
Video rendering quality = preview
Audio:
Mode = Cbr
Format = Windows Media Audio 9.1
Attributes = 64 kbps 44khz
Video:
Mode = cbr
Format = Windows Media 9
Image size = Keep original
Frame rate = 29.970 with 3 seconds per keyframe
Do not check ovverride box
Smoothness = 90
Bitrate:
Check high speed internet box, put in 1.56 M
Index/summary is up to you.
If you like these settings you can save them, just enter a name in the bar at the top of the window and click the little disk icon to save them.
You can tweak these a bit and get them smaller without losing quality, but I only do that when making something really large. Otherwise these give you good quality and keep your video at a relatively small size compared to the presets.
Any questions/comments feel free to post or PM me. I've adjusted them enough to understand what most of the settings do and how they affect your size/quality.
