Bad disc?

Any other angry dopes out there whose disc refuses to play Anchorage?

I'm going to delete my mem-card data to see if that's my problem.
The little fan is just a spinning, then it stops spinning....forever.

Anybody else experiencing this technical difficulty?

i had this problem , back on socom 2.. and it was due to the memory card.. it was a ****** 3rd party one... but for some reason it wouldnt show me some maps and even servers.. so that could be it

For the past 45 minutes I've been getting a frozen screen while loading a map and it was very frustrating. Eventually I turned it off and am giving it an hour to rest (the PS2 was very hot) and then I'll try it again.

And if nothing else, I'll just delete my file and remake it.

I deleted my files and copied my bro's files, but Anchorage still doesn't work.

It just kinda starts loading, the little fan is just a spinning....then it stops spinning.

I'm thinking it's the disc, but I'm not sure.
I'm also using a yellow memory card, so I'll get my black one and put it on there.

It's your disc I had the same problem way back in June. You either gotta get a new one or atleast clean the one you own.

Even the smallest of fingerprints or smudges could possibly cause a certain map not to load. I'm not saying no-one takes care of their stuff, but I would explore every single option, or if you have the receipt I'd just go and claim defect, and swap it out for a new one.

Clean the lens,
1-open the cd drawer, take out Socom Combined Assault
2-turn off power switch on the back of ps2, this leaved the drawer open
3-with a flashlight on look in back of drawer and push in until you can see the laser eye behind cd wheel.
4-clean lens with a long wood handle swab and alcohol.
5-Clear the drawer area from fingers and swabs, turn back power switch on
6-restart ps2 with Combined Assault and try again

Good Luck

Out...
