Aim "assist" - do you use it?
I just bought CA and its my first socom game i've played online (i played SII offline before i got dsl). i was adjusting my controller settings when i noticed the "aim assist" option. i toggled it to off assuming it was for those who suck, but found myself getting hit quickly by people running around corners, a bit too quickly. is this bad luck, connection, or the previously mentioned aim-assist? do most people use it? i hate auto aim in my games and don't want to even have the option for it, but as is its there - should i use it? do people use it in tourneys?

Aim assist is for single player only. It shows a red box around enemies in the area of your crosshairs.

As for online, just takes some time to get used to it. For people jumping out from behind corners, just work on your accuracy to take them down. And I don't know if it still applies in CA, but look for guns to be sticking through walls.

yeah for single player only, I doubt its your connection, aim will take time to get use to and getting shot in the back or corner jumped will always happen

From toying around, Aim Assist not only shows you where the guys are with red boxes much quicker, but also if you have your crosshairs remotely close to somebody, the Assist will take over and shoot as if your crosshair was dead on his chest. Try it, aim a bit to the left from the guy and you will clearly see your tracers going right at the target even thogh you're aiming away.
