The arguement is that you should be able to do it anywhere, regardless if they are at a turret. The simplest solution given the current engine would be to have the rifle butt option only available when you're sneaking up on them equiped with the rifle and have the knife cut option only available with one handed equips: secondary, grenade, etc...

That's just my opinion. It's not like there's a group of people out there thinking up ideas and solutions for Socom's shortcomings...Wait a second, what are they called? Oh yea that's right ZIPPER.

I have 5 knife kills through 2 single player missions right now...3 out of the 5 got really glitchy before it happened, as in it zoomed out of 1st person and you could see me just standing there next to the guy for about 3 seconds, and then his arm would do the slit action but the knife and his throat were offset by a good Seal and a half. It's not impossible, just try and keep your stealth meter in the dark colors...good indication of how much noise/visuals you're making.

Maybe they're trying to keep it realistic? I know that's never stopped them before but maybe they're trying. And ya melee weapons would be cool but I'm sure there's a reason they didn't do it. Why must people always always always find tons and tons of little things to complain about.

These aren't Joe, Charlie, Billy and John Schmuck we're playing with. These are extensively trained Navy Seals. I'm pretty sure actual Seals do knife kills or melee on a regular basis if you want to keep it "realistic".

People complain b/c you would think with all the time Zipper had to produce this game they would have done a thorough job on it. It's not like they had to write a new engine or anything. CO OP is not a new idea therefore not difficult to implement. In the multiplayer character selection they replace the character choices with these sh*tty pixelated baseball cards. They give us two new weapons and a few new vehicles, that are just more skins that maybe take a few weeks to do. So far the only thing Zipper can rant about are the new maps b/c they are amazing.

It's not like I'm harshly flaming this game. I used to hate on people who sh*tted on Socom on Socom forums but sometimes its criticism that Zipper should take to heart, assuming that they have people looking for consumer reactions to its games. It's just the lack of effort that greatly dissappoints me. SOCOM has the potential to be the end all epidimy of an online shooter, but until Zipper steps its game up it will continue to be IMO mediocre.
