I thought it would be nice to open a thread for "sports trade talk" for every sport. It would be nice to not have to seperate amongst the different sports to get opinions on "major" trades. I do not feel that "minor" trades should be discussed here. They will not play a VITAL role in the changing of teams.

A-rod to Cubs????? Where should he end up? I think he will stay in New York. They would be silly to let him go!

Barry Zito???? How about some pinstripes in the Midwest....particularly Chicago......doubt it, but could be nice!

Jason Schmidt and Carlos Lee are going to be Free Agents as well.

I know that baseball is getting ready to start the off-season (about 3 weeks from now), but let's start general trade discussions here.

If a mod (Creep) thinks this should be deleted, have at it. Just know I will resent you forever.......

I think you are right on about A-Rod. I doubt the Yankees will part with him, even after his consecutive post-season batting blunders.

I read in Newsday the other day that the Mets will heavily pursue Zito as well. Zito is good friends with the Mets current pitching coach, Rick Peterson, who was formly with Oakland, so we could see a possible reunion there. Maybe it will come down to an epic bidding war between the Yankees and the Mets once again, which usually leaves the winning side wishing they hadn't opened their purse come the end of the season.

A-Rod is not going anywhere. Yanks would have to pay him a ton.

His offseason is pretty damn good if you ask me. How many HR did he hit?

A-Rod went 1-14 in the ALDS....are you serious?????? WOW

Anyways, Zito would be a good addition to any team. The Mets could use him with the woes they are currently enduring with Pedro's injury!

I hope he was being sarcastic about A-Rod's output in this year's playoffs... dude wasn't even hitting his own weight in batting average.

Carlos Lee & Barry Zito should be the top two priorities for the Cubs to sign up come this offeason... that's my two cents.

I think the rangers will re-sign Carlos Lee. They lost their 2nd best bat Kevin Mench in the trade and Lee did do a little bit better when he played for the rangers.

As for the Cubs getting A-rod I don't think it's going to happen. They Yanks would want Zambraino and the cubs need him if they want to have a solid pitching staff.

No one really seems to know what is going on with Alfonso Soriano, but it sounds like he will not re-sign with the Nats. How lucky will some team be to get him. Yes he Ks a lot, but think of his 40/40 and average coming to your team!!!!! WOW!

Mr. Pinella, would you do the introduction of Mr. Soriano to the Cub fans........a boy can dream!

I think you really meant to say that two of us could always dream... and I also agree that a Zambrano (and more, I'm guessing) for A-Rod deal would be completely stupid.

Many teams could get alfonso. The phillies could get him and move him to 3rd as they have Utley. They would then have a solid line up. The Cubs might be able to sign him as they would then have Lee their good 3rd baseman(forgot his name) and alfonso. He could end up on any team as he is a very good player. He will also go to the team that offers the most money as its all about the money.
