I am going to get an account on X-Box Live for the first time, and I was wondering. What X-Box game should I get that has online capabilities? I was thinking I should get Halo 2 with the map pack, but I am not sure if I should. Give me suggestions!

It all depends... are you talking about going online with the Xbox or Xbox 360? If you're talking about going online with your Xbox, then Halo 2 sounds like a safe bet... but if you're talking about going online with your Xbox 360, there are several better options than just Halo 2 to play over your 360.

Since you're doing it for the original XBOX, I'd say you're safest with Halo 2.
