Top Ten things that should be added to Elder Scrolls V

The top ten things I think should be added to Elder Scrolls V that were not in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

10. Lycanthropy
9. Pets
8, Vampire Mastery
7. Online Arena Play
6. Slaves
5. Hunting
4. Complete NPC Annihilation
3. Marriages/Dating
2. Toilets
1. Sex

Read my blog for a more comprehensive view why I think this way. Feel free to add things; or tell me I'm an idiot. I think it's a fun game to play until the next Elder Scrolls gets here, which in my opinion is way too far away.

It sounds like you're trying to make it Fable. Pets, marriage, and sex are all things that worked for Fable but I don't think it's good for Elder Scrolls.
Online play could be fun but I wouldn't play it. Elder Scrolls is to play secluded and in your own world. Slaves could be interesting, but I wouldn't really care. Hunting could be a good idea, all you get for killing deer and bear are the stupid little pelts. There could be something more worthwhile. The #4 is only for people who want to have fun and beat everything in the game already. And toilets? Come on. Elder Scrolls is some sort of older time period. They might have had sewers, but not full blown toilets. Maybe a hole in the ground, but what difference would that really make for the game? I don't know why that would be on any person's top 10.

Its not really the premise of the elders scrolls games to be a life sim. Though a little more realistic interactivity with the NPCs would be nice. I think the main thing that would be best, would be
1. More weapons
2. More level up customobility
3. More variety of armor, and placement of armor( I.E. Gloves, pauldrens... etc, think morrowind)

Really what I think the game lacks the most is misscellaneous quests. Morrowind was full of them, I dont know why bethesda thought to take that aspect away, and give you a few measly quests to work with outside the main quests...

Really, if the 3rd and 4th elder scrolls could somehow be combined into some kind of super hybrid reconstruction of the entire series. Like if they had a baby together, that would be the perfect elder scrolls... well, until we beat it of course, then it would just need to be replaced by 6....

This is a much longer post than I intended....

Whats Lcanthropy? The only thing I want changed is the leveling system. The whole point of leveling up is to become stronger. If your enemies level up with you that kind of devoids the point.

Lycanthropy=werewolfism

In the original game there was a lot of debate over being a vampire, pros and cons. Each side thought they were right, as one person thought the vampire thing was the worst part of the game, whereas others thought it best.

Werewolfism, or lycanthropy, could make it so you could meet in the middle. Increased stats, but the side effect would only occur once or twice a month, rather than if you did not feed effectively.

I'll name 5

1 - Armor customization, such as color
2 - Some form of co-operative or competitive play (the arena suggestion was good)
3 - Better move items ability (like in houses, so I can put weapons even in chests without lots of effort)
4 - A bank, I think it would be cool if you could borrow and lend money (you would earn interest on loans), and limits on borrowing
5 - More Guild abilities after becoming a leader

I never thought of a bank, man!

That's brilliant, and would steal a spot on my list, probably knocking off werewolfism or vampire mastery.

Not going to knock off pets, because on my blog I made a cool picture of Oblivion with a dog in it, and that was hard work, yo.

Banks, though, should be added.

Good call, good Sir.

Here's my list; some of them are things that should be changed/taken away:

1. Make the enemies not level up with you as much. When you level up in Oblivion, you don't feel any more powerful, because everything else levels too. That's half the fun of leveling up.

2. More weapon types. Like some people have said, crossbows and spears would be nice. Also thrown weapons and fist weapons would be cool too.

3. Mounted archery/combat. Somebody else suggested this and it sounds like a really good idea to me and is something I found lacking in Oblivion.

4. Better damage effects. Showing cuts and bruises, dismemberment, fire spells actually charring the flesh. These and other similar things would be nice and are finally technologically feasible.

5. Ability to rest without a bed. This would be nice and make things more realistic. It would only be allowed in the wilderness and if it was really felt that it would off balance things they could make a chance for random encounters while resting, although I don't see how it would throw things off balance.

6. Modding tools and cheat console on the console versions.

That's all I can really think of at the moment.

Everything sounds great except for the last two.
A main point of resting is to either pay a fee and stay at an inn (or if you have a house/guild membership), or take a chance sleeping in a cave or similar place with the fear of a vampire chomping a piece out of your neck. That's how it seemed to me at least. I think if you could rest anywhere there could be harsh consequences depending on where you are. But I don't like the idea in general.

Modding tools are just a little unrealistic at this point in time only because of consoles at this point in time. They don't have the same abilities as computers, and it would be much harder with a controller. It would be hella fun to mod Oblivion on my xbox. But hey, that's why I bought it for my PC as well.

About #4. It's nice to see how awesome the gfx can look. I couldn't run Oblivion on my old computer but I still loved playing it on my friends because he could put everything to the max and it was beautiful. So much better than the 360 graphics.
PC Gamers for years now have really had to keep up with the times in order to keep playing. It's nothing new.

How about the quest being more than two dimensional? 90% of the quests in 4 consist of "run here and kill this thing to get this item then bring it back here." The redundancy got annoying after a while but it was still a fun game.

The only thing this game needs is Hotter chicks and big breasts, I.E give the model production to a japanese company. Then it'd definitely be GOTY, for real !

I have way more then 10 things I wanna see, but I'll try to narrow it down.

1: Bring back werewolves. Well....Actually I want more than just wolves. I want a variety of wereanimals. That would be interesting.
2: The abilitity to get animals as companions. A dog/wolf/hawk that can attack enemies or warn you of danger.
3: hunger and thirst and sleep that can affect your health. They need to make it so that players need to eat and drink and sleep to keep their health and fatigue up. They could add the ability to set up a camp and have a fire and tent/bedroll.
4: Realistic weather effects on player. I want heat that makes you thirsty, cold that makes you shiver and makes it harder to shoot arrows. Rain that muddies the dirt and makes you slip, floods, ect. There needs to be more interaction with nature.
5: The players actions affect the game world. I want everything I do to matter. If I steal the food out of a woman's house, I want to see her in the market the next day buying more food. If I murder a man I want him to actually have a funeral and be buried. And I want decisions I make to affect how the game changes.
6: More interaction with food, drink, potions, ect. I want my character to stumble around drunk If I get wasted on wine beer and ale. I want to be able to actually us pots and pans while camping to cook food to eat(different dishes affect hunger more then others). I want to watch my character eating and drinking in a bar, not just stuff vanishing from the inventory screen.
7: Pack animals. I remember in the Tribunal expansion of Morrowind, they had pack rats. But, in the first Elder Scrolls game with horses, they couldn't have packhorses? I'm tired of getting stuck in the middle of nowhere unable to move unless i drop 300 gold worth of stuff. We ned something to help carry our extra inventory.
8: A working Economy. Although it was better then previous Elder Scrolls games in this area, Oblivion's economy still was horribly strung together. They need to take the time to make a fully functioning economy in the Empire. It is badly needed. The shops of Tamriel, for too long, have had random prices for basic items. We need a universal economy and price system that rises and falls with demand. For example, buying apples, in a village with it's own orchard, should be cheaper then in the Capital City's urban marketplace.
9: More variety of armour and weapons. There were several armour and weapons types throughout the ages. However, it seems that Tamriel has only basic types. Here are a few of the weapons they should add; Quarterstaff, Rapier, bastard sword, great sword, crossbow, longbow(longer range), shortbow(short range), longsword, short sword, claymore, dagger, knife, cutlass, Pike, Spear, Halibert, lance
Here are a few of the armour types; Leather, Chainmail, Scalemail, Padded, Splintmail(wooden), Banded, Halfplate, full plate. There are more differences in armour then size and weight. They need to take every detail into account.
9: They need to have more factions. They need more than just a few guilds, They should have other guilds and factions you can join too.
10: The ability to turn people into vampiric followers, as a vampire.
There's alot more, but thats my top 10 ....oh wait i forgot one.
11: Bows and swords equipted at the same same and drew with a different button. I'll use the xbox 360 controls as an example. The 360 uses the X button to draw your weapons. Thats great for swords, but I think that bows/other ranged weapons should be drawn with the unused left shoulder button. This way you can have one ranged and one melee weapons equipted at once. and avoid pausing the game to change weapons.
12: More realistic hunting. I want to be able to hunt rabbits, deer, wolves, bears, ect. and actually carry skin them for their hides and meat. One tiny peice of meat, after 45 minutes of following a deer is just unfair. You should be able to use hides from hunting to make your own leather/fur armour/cloths.
13: More realistic weight system. Come on folks you can't tell me your happy with being able to run full speed one moment and nailed to the floor the next cause you picked up a peice of paper. They need to have it make you move slower the more weight you carry.
14: Last thing i'll add......i hope.. A moral/good-evil system. When you do evil things you be]ome evil when you do good things you become good. They need to add the ability to chooae good or evil. You could even join the bad guys in the main quest. Wouldn't you have liked to have helped Dagon crush some puny Imperial Guards? I know I would have.
