According to gameindustry.biz, a Bethesda publishing executive, Paul Oughton stated that we may be seeing the next Elder Scrolls title around 2010. He didn't say anything about what we can expect from the game, or whether or not it might be an MMO from ZeniMax Online Studios or a single player game developed internally at Bethesda, but since he is quoted as a Bethesda Executive, the single player option seems more likely. Currently speculation on the next Elder Scrolls title points to it taking place in Skyrim.
My thoughts are that it's going to be great. Oblivion sucked me in so bad, probably more than any other game I've ever played. I'm interested in seeing more of what the series has to offer.

Ditto. V had damn well better not be an MMO because I will never play it if it is, and I really, really really want it. If it's even half as good as Oblivion was it will be all kinds of awesome.

Eh, mmo, nah id rather play a super vamped up oblivion more. Just because i dont feel like grinding yet another mmo right now and may actually take the fun out of what the last two iterations brought on. Maybe some multiplayer or co-op action for sure though.

I did like Oblivion more the Morrowind, but I would really like to the all of the daedric artifacts that were in the series (some games have exclusive ones while some are only on I and IV etc.). Also the return of spears and crossbows would be cool. How awesome would it be to stab someone with a supped up trident?

Absolutely. The game was designed to be a completely interactive world where you can do anything. MMO's make that very simple by just making everyone real. Oblivion had hundreds (am i exaggerating a bit?) of NPCs and most were important to some kind of quest and had unique dialogue. That's fucking impressive. IMO an Elder Scrolls MMO would ruin what the series once was. Just like Final Fantasy 11, it completely changed the series. And do we really need another MMO right now? No.

They can start by changing all player models. Make at least some of the chicks look hot.

I loved oblviion, and i would hope that maybe they would have an option to play as MMO with others, or by yourself.
But thats only if they do make it a MMO if not, i want it single player only.

To date, Oblivion is the only game where I have gotten every gamerscore point available and bought every expansion or expansion like item from the net. Its also the only game that I own on all available platforms. 360/PS3/PC.
Why not just buy the PC version in the first place?
He is of the timeline scenario people, so its totally excusable. He probably got the 360 version first, got the ps3 version after, then heard about what he could do with the pc vers and then got that one.

That is exactly right. A friend showed me the 360 version and at that time my PC was crap and wouldn't have been able to run it. So I bought a 360 and the game. Then came the PS3 version, then later i built a gaming PC. So yeah. I have no regrets about it though.
- Spears that you either throw or jab and slash with.
- Cross bows. They'd be weaker and have shorter range than a bow, but have faster firing (no pulling the string back) and reloading.
- Armor and weapons designed for each class.
- Hand weapons like Brass Knuckles and Tiger Claws.
- More character customization. Be able to change the height (which would have different limits for each race) and girth (make a fat ass or a bag-o'-bones).
- A staff weapon to bop people on the head and poke a bear in the eye.
- More guilds and/or more quests for the guilds.
- A larger variety of enemies, and they level up with you (somewhat).
- Maybe have it where the smaller villages will sometimes get attacked by Raiders or Goblins and you can help the villagers (might show you on the map which places are under attack).
- Spells change as you level them up (Fire Ball 1 fires a small ball of fire, Fire Ball 4 fires one twice as big).
- Some mini-games like darts or a shooting competition.
- A larger arena where you can challenge people (and this could be an online thing as well) or you can fight monsters. As you rank up, people below you will challenge you. There would be a competition of some sort every month or every other month (in-game time, not actual time), each with a different theme (one month will be a Mage Competition, the next month will be a Grand Championship, etc.)
- More dungeons, and enemies respawn after a certain amount of time.
- Treasure chests that get refilled if in a place that has people.
- Raider and Goblin forts and raiding parties (these guys would roam around to nearby villages). Take out the fort, no more raiding parties until the enemies respawn.
- Heavy weapons and armor that are actually worth their weight (in gold and in stats).
- More attack animations.
- Cutting weapons leave cut marks that will bleed. If it hits armor, it will leave a cut mark on heavy armor, but cut through light armor in three or four hits in the same general area.
- Certain classes (like the Ranger) can fire a bow/cross bow while on a horse, but it's less accurate. Others can use a weapon (sword, spear, hammer, etc.).
- Limb damage that if severe enough, can remove the limbs/head.
- Different sounds for when something hits different materials (Leather won't have a metallic ting when hit, and blunt weapons will have more of a bang when they hit something).
- More aquatic enemies.
