Drop that 800 into the Fallout 3 Alaskan missions. -

800 for the Operation: Anchorage mission
800 for the Combustible map pack (maybe?) -

800 for the Combustible map pack (maybe?) That certainly does equal to 1600.
When I'm not impaired by a plant anymore and get active enough to get up, I'll get some points for the map pack too. I need to pick up another Live subscription too. -

I started playing gears 2 again this weekend and I have to say I fell in love with this game all over again. That patch seems like it really did fix everything that I had problems with. I was just wondering if anyone has bought the new maps yet. If so, are they worth getting? I was reading about them and they sounded really good, just wondering what you guys thought. -

In my opinion, two of the three maps (Gold Rush and Fuel Station) are pretty cool, Gold Rush being my favorite. The third map, Flood, is an okay map. It's cool how the immulsion rises throughout the round but it doesn't rise fast enough to really make much of a difference and add duress to the remaining players. It's not really worth 800 MP but if you have 800 to spend, then go for it. They added achievements based on the two map packs they have to try and convince more people to buy them so if you like the game, want to try new maps, and up your gamerscore at the same time, then go for it.
They need to add the maps in with the normal game modes though because right now, they have their own seperate game search category with a players choice style voting for game modes and most people are trying to play Annex because that is the game mode most of the achievements are based off of so if Annex doesn't get picked, don't be surprised if half of the room leaves. I hate those people and immediately take the time to file cheating complaints against them hoping they will get their account suspened. -

Eh, I think I'll have to pony up the 800 points and check these maps out for myself... being such a fan of the series, I think I might owe it to myself to get them. Plus, it will give me extra incentive to play the game more often than I have been lately. -

I love Gears 2, but the original Gears still plays better in my eyes. Gears 2 just still seems so glitchy even after the patch. I do love the new maps though. But the new achievements...talk about uninspired.

I personally like the CM. That may be because i play the game so much and im glad for a change. But there pretty good especially fuel station. Although 800 mp does seem a bit of alot for 3 maps.
Pros: Add's better game variety, new maps, encourages you to play more.
Cons: 800 MP's, Limited amount of People have them *making it almost impossible to use for private matches with regulars*
All in all i think if you want to buy the maps to go ahead, but if you have patience i would try and wait it out until they either get cheaper, free, or more people get them. All they're useful for now is a change of scenery. | |
