you are right but whats the new game to talk about that subs for Halo or cod4
Most likely Socom:Confrontation (PS3), Gears of Wars 2 (360), and Call of Duty: World at War (Multi-platform).
A lot of people on the consoles will be moving away from COD4 once WaW and Gears of War 2 are released, but you'll still probably find a lot of COD4 players on the PC.
Which is better to use for coasters, because who's playing either of these old games anymore?
I know it was a rhetorical question, but these are the two most plyed games on xbox live, so apearantly, people are playing them, and to alot of people, it is a really tough decision.
If your saying Halo or COD4, go with Halo, since world at war and COD5 will start to empty out COD4s servers, but it all depends on the type of play that suits you best. I play both games, but my style more suits Halo, i just love team swat.

this went through perfectly! didn't think it would happen.
To answer your question I'd go with COD 4. I too like the modern day shooters better. I'm not a big fan of vehicles in my shooters either(including SOCOM 3). I really liked the perks too. As far as moving to my next game I'm moving to Gears of War 2 and WaW. Don't own a PS3

This post made me laugh. Who plays old games? Quite a few people actually. They are commonly referred to as the "hardcore" or "true" gamer, because unlike all of the gamers today who play nothing but the latest shooter with photorealistic graphics (also referred to as "mainstream" or "recreational" gamers) they play games from every system, from every era. You will see hardcore gamers still time attacking old Mega Drive Sonic (among others), or even just playing these games for fun. Why does this happen? Well, because games have steadily decreased in quality overall over the last 15 years or so. Sure there have been some standouts, but not as many as there used to be. New games are all about graphics...along with poor design and gameplay. So in short, choosing between Halo 3 and CoD 4 is like choosing between a giant douche and a turd sandwhich. I'll go play Symphony of the Night or Mega Man 9 on the arcade thank you very much.
I like Halo 3's online multiplayer much better than COD 4 because it seems so much more intuitive. And the halo multiplayer is much more streamlined than the COD 4 multiplayer. But I have to admit I hate Halo's Campain mode and I fell in love with the COD 4 campain so the games balance eachother out. But the user created content in Halo sort of puts me over the edge so I would have to say that Halo is the better game.

??? Are you saying because I like to go out and get the newest game I am not a "true" or "hardcore" gamer? That doesn’t really make sense. As for game quality has been on the decline for the past 15 years, are we playing the same games? I am pretty sure games like Mass Effect, Bioshock, MGS4 and GTA4 just to name a few have been a little better then Donkey Kong or Pac Man. Maybe I am crazy here but I am pretty sure that the current gen of consoles has some of the best games ever made. Now to get back to the question I would have to go with Halo 3. COD 4 was cool for a while but got boring; I can always go back to Halo and enjoy my self.
Haven't gotten the chance to play the new CoD yet, but I never really got the hype around 4.
Had some cool features like perks and stuff, but with the size of the hitboxes and quick death it gets annoying when I get killed before I even have a chance to react. I dunno, maybe just didn't give it enough play time.
Halo 3 felt more strategic I guess, using corners and different weapon combos rather than run and gun. Might just be used to this style after years of 1 & 2, so kinda biased. I could do away with the pre-game lobbies full of pre-pubescent boys screaming profanities though thats for sure
