??? Are you saying because I like to go out and get the newest game I am not a "true" or "hardcore" gamer? That doesn’t really make sense. As for game quality has been on the decline for the past 15 years, are we playing the same games? I am pretty sure games like Mass Effect, Bioshock, MGS4 and GTA4 just to name a few have been a little better then Donkey Kong or Pac Man. Maybe I am crazy here but I am pretty sure that the current gen of consoles has some of the best games ever made. Now to get back to the question I would have to go with Halo 3. COD 4 was cool for a while but got boring; I can always go back to Halo and enjoy my self.
Though I completely agree with the veiws what's said here about the quality of games nowadays, I disagree with the end. If I had to pick only one game to play(especially online) for the rest of my days, it would definately be COD 4. I like playing most games to escape reality for a little while, but I like COD for it's realism. Halo's fun, but it get's rediculous at times. I also disagree with what was said about COD WaW emptying COD 4 servers. I've got both and play COD 4 way more. I think infinity ward dropped the ball going back in time again. they should have made Modern Warfare 2.
Halo 3 felt more strategic I guess, using corners and different weapon combos rather than run and gun. Might just be used to this style after years of 1 & 2, so kinda biased. I could do away with the pre-game lobbies full of pre-pubescent boys screaming profanities though thats for sure
... Strategic? Corners? Not run 'n' gun? Okay, maybe Halo's not run 'n' gun... more like jump 'n' gun. I'm sorry but there is no strategy to Halo. Granted it is fun, but it's like watching a bunch of super roided out biped bunny rabbits wearing armor shooting guns. Not to mention the fact that you can survive dozens of bullets, and then go hit somone with the butt of your gun a couple of times and kill them. Also, it really has nothing to offer while advancing in rank. You don't get that many "pre-pubescent boys" in the COD 4 lobby either. I too have played Halo since it first came out, but I whole heartedly believe COD 4 is the better game. Halo's like a "gateway shooter". It's good, but there are bigger and better things out there.

Infinity Ward didn't make CoD:Waw...just so ya know.
not to me. I was glad it finnally returned to world war II. Sure people complain its getting stale, but ive played hundreds of modern warfare games also..... PLus the Games identical to COD4, and it will empty out COD4s servers eventually, and thats why i give the Edge to Halo. No matter what happens, that game will be full of people playing it, and not a fad game like Rainbow six or COD. Also, it has more support (obviously) than COD, so we are always seeing new features, aps, achievements, and even a new campaign soon. This alone makes it better than COD for me, since the multiplayer alone just bores me after a while with the lack of any good multiplayer modes.
somehow i also like the hit detection on Halo 3, it has alot more reaction to it tha COD, which i also like. i cant really ecplain that though.

Both games are good in their own right. COD4 is more realistic because 1, its modern day and 2, just like in the game you never know whats coming around the corner! I like Halo3 also but you don't have those "watch my back" moments in the game.
When you play COD4 you never know what is around the corner, who is coming around the corner, and there is no place to camp. And everybody hates campers! Halo3 is full of places to camp! that's my only gripe with the game!
Halo has a better plot; I care about the players. It has better Xbox Live (everyone knows that). It takes more strategy. Plus, you have a health meter!

IMO health meters are ridiculous, lol. I've never been in a firefight in real life, but if I had been, I don't think i would be able to run behind a wall and say, "okay, I'm at half health after taking those 5 bullets.. I think i can do this."
Also, I think CoD4 was better than Halo3, and WaW was better than Halo 3 too. As for strategy, I don't see any way halo uses more of it lol.

Yet you can also say that in Call of Duty or Gears it isn't like someone is going "Okay. I just got shot 3 times lemme hide behind this corner for 7 seconds so I feel like a million dollars again."
Call of Duty 4, Halo 3 sucked, only the first Halo was good (campaign wise)... in fact it was so good that i just expect every game to be as good as the first Halo was and when it doesnt happen i get disappointed
i believe that halo 3 is better... i could never figure out the controls of the Call Of Duty games... whereas halo 3 is much easier to play because i understand the controls better...
i love shooter games, but i dislike most simulators. to me, Call Of Duty 4 is too much of a sim for my liking...

how can you not figure out CoD 4 controls, thats like not knowing how to breath, and that the thing, H3 is too easy, online all it is is you shoot the opponent twice with the BR and smack them... and its the same thing over and over, where as in Call of Duty you can upgrade your weapons, gain advantages by becoming a higher level and you can call in air strikes and what not. and explain how Call of Duty is a simulator
