Today, i played it for 5 minutes.
I instantly felt like destoying the stupid freakin controller. People say you can play the game without knowing how to play guitar... Yeah freakin right. I couldnt even hold the damned controller well enough to play the damn game, much less well. The 3 guys i was playing it with are in a band, so of course they could play it. I also noted the following while watching the game
The control is impossible to use
The graphics BEYOND suck (are we still living in the 1990s? Is this lawnmower man?)
Also, if you spend all that time playing this retard of a game, and getting good at it, what the hell is wrong with you? Why wouldnt you just learn how to play the real bloody instrument?
I would like to take the staff of Activision, and chemically castrate every one of them so they couldnt even reproduce by accident.
oh, and ive never played rock band, but after this horrid experience, im hoping im never drurk, or stupid enough to play that either.
Well, I can't play guitar, and I managed OK with guitar hero. I sucked royally for quite a while, but with a bit of practise you get the hang of it. 5 minutes is hardly enough time to familiarise yourself with a completely new control method. It seems like you're just frustrated that you can't play the game. Have patience and get used to it.
I'm still not that great. I can hold my own on medium, but that's about it. But it's a fun game, which is all it's really meant to be.
What are you talking about Willis. This game is so much fun. Like any thing else in life, it take practice. You can't play for 5 min. and expect to play like Guitar Hero's Eddie van Halen. I play guitar in real life and find guitar hero much harder then a real guitar but it didn't stop me from trying this game and loving it.
I was horrible with the guitar at first. Played with the controller.
Now on the second and first GH i have managed to work my way up to being able to easily beat the hard songs. and only like 2 experts .
and I can only play like one little part of an easy song on a real guitar.
I am horrible at the third one for some reason though.

Don't worry. GH3 is ridiculously hard compared to GH2, which is OK because I've improved through playing it. But I suck at hard songs on GH3... I should go and play GH2 and see what I've learned.

+1 FTW!
Agreed 100%... all it takes is some practice... only played it for five minutes and you're ready to break something? Ouch. Sounds like someone needs some anger management lessons...
You're ranting about a game because you dont' know how to hold a guitar? Please. You don't need to know how to play guitar to play this game. Infact, I know many people who play guitar and SUCK at guitar hero when they play it. HOLY ****, SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO PUT TIME INTO TO GET GOOD AT? NO WAY. Why do stupid people feel the need to raise their voice?
I bought GH2 last May and I played it a bunch for like a two weeks, then took a break until GH3. Since then I play it maybe once or twice a month for a half hour. I can now beat any song in either game on expert, except "through the fire and flames" and "jordan". I never got good by wasting my life away for days on end. Over time I just got comfortable with it, and now it's easy. So I would say you're just impatient.
I played on GH3 for the Wii last night and can't say I was over impressed.
The graphics are a bit crappy but it's rare you even look at anything other than the notes coming down the screen so I didn't mind.
I did play it on the PS3 a while ago and loved it and now there are better songs being released along with a new Aerosmith version in the works, I am thinking of getting this later in the year depending on when I get bored of GTAIV.

yeah, its considerably stupid, when IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO HOLD OR OPERATE A GUITAR (which i dont) YOU CANT USE THE GODDAMN CONTROLLER. i couldnt even hold the thing properly BECAUSE I CANT PLAY A GUITAR! hencer the whole arguement of needing to know how to play guitar in the first place.
Settle down, son. I don't know how to play guitar, but I can use the controller well enough. I'm sure others have said this too. You are just impatient.
hahaha just because you can play guitar doesn't mean you'll be good at guitar hero. trust me. the only thing that'll help if you play an instrument is the timing of the buttons and notes and if you already know the song. it really helps if you just hum along to the tune then play. but you probably already knew that. =) guitar hero is a great game and you shouldn't really think about it for the graphics so much as the overall fun factor. when you're playing, you're not really looking at the characters but more of the buttons.
