I don't know... They kept saying things like "Al Maulim has shown us the light" and stuff like that. He also talked about how miracles and things of that sort had been illusions caused by the Piece of Eden. I figure he may have shown them "proof" that his way was the way of peace or something. It doesn't seem to me he could force and entire population under him just by threatening them or something like that. Especially since his followers could easily revolt against him if he turned to evil.

I find it to be somewhat of a bore. It's still fun and the graphics are amazing but it does get really repetetive. I don't have enough downtime to be playing that game.
I also loved the story and the ending, despite the sci fi themse they gave it(i guess trying to keep it pc, u kno how sensitive the gen muslim population are) but the repetition in the missions didnt bother me at all. since its free roam, for some reason my mind just got swept up in the world and i was making up my own sub stories in my head just running around killin people and running away imagining i was a fake *** deadpool or daredevil lol.
i think people saying its a horrible game are EXTREME exagerrators.

Although it was free roam, it barely gave you the ability to do what you want. The most you could do was pick between who you want to kill first, out of three people. OOOOH WOW. Big deal. And the story sucked, hands down. They really ruined it. A 12 year old who's watched a sci-fi movie before could've thought that up.
the story was not that bad, they managed to make a story that actually soundt historically correct, while throwing in one or two sci fi elements to keep fanaticals from shunning the game. if you dont kno, look up templar knight mythology. Its very intresting, becuse its rumoured that they are still alive and well and have some control over the world. i dont think a 12 year old would think of an intertwining story like that. in the second game, i would like to find out who is representing them, who exactly are they fighting, and how EXACTLY did the main characters family fit in to everything.
as far as free world is concerned, its the same as gta3, run drive or shoot or jump buildings, kill or ride a horse. i just pretended i was spiderman and made up my own story. it past the time quick. And i did EVERY mission.

I liked this game and played it for about 3 weeks, but then it just turned sour and repetitive.
I killed the guys in each city once, then when I realised you have to do it all again I just gave up. I think I got to memory block 5.
I traded this game in last week. I paid 25GBP for it and got 13GBP back so I can't complain.
I loved the "free running" aspect of the game, but there are only so many ways to kill a guy and I think I pretty much found every one. This game is the first step to my GTAIV fund.
I agree that the side missions were very repetitive, and very little substance to them. I got a lot of the flags, but I didn't get all of them. That is just way too annoying.
Nonetheless, it is still really fun. It didn't matter how many times I had to save people I couldn't get enough. Maybe I am just bloodthirsty, but I had a blast sneaking up, and taking out 3 out of the five guards that hassled different people before they even noticed.
The only thing I wanted was to be able to jump off of a building and stab someone in the head. If I could do that I would still be playing it.
I think the best comment I heard from a guy was that the game is very relaxing. Even though it's repetitive, it's just nice to sit back and play the game without it being to stressful. I think that describes this game pretty well.
I still haven't beaten the game, I've worked through it in 2 segments, Like I'll sit down and go at it for a day or 2 and then quit for awhile, Right now I'm to the point where I basically cant set foot on the ground without being chased, and its getting kind of annoying, There's just too many guards, and these long as chases are driving me crazy. But I do want to finish it, May do that after I finish my season in madden this week. I think the most annoying aspect is when you have to sit and listen to the civilians say the same freaking thing, while more guards are walking up and finding the dead bodies you just took down to save the person, so you basically have to run off right away. AND THE DAMN CAMERA WONT GO AWAY FROM THE CIVILIAN!
seriously for some reason I found that EXTREMELY frustrating.
I'll let you know my thoughts on the game soon as I finish it.
