Ive seen plenty of children on gears of war, resident evil 5, halo 3, rainbow six, you name it. Those types of statements should just be fucking thrown out the window by now. Everybody plays fucking games online, especially kids. Its not just one game all of them play, cut that **** out. Its give me a headache. But no that wasn't aimed at you but everyone who says that and thinks its a valid argument to why they don't like a game.

this went through perfectly! didn't think it would happen.
he does have a point. the esrb ratings on games are just bs cuz parents dont know what they are buying and dont pay attention to the ratings. personally i dont let my kids watch me game just because of the fact that its stuff they dont need to see, and i deffinatly wouldnt buy them one. so really thats not a valid point and should be dimissed by all who read it. but i still stand by my deciosion that i would rather play halo then gears ecspecially when it comes down to online gaming. and the halo universe is so much more immense then the gow universe
Halo takes a lot of strategy. Especially the fact that you can only carry two guns. Also, the plot is better, like I actually care about what happens in Halo. And, of course, in GOW you can't see your health. How stupid is that! BTW, Halo 3 has way better Xbox Live.
yeah but it is still kinda lame that the only way you know your about to die is when the circle pops up on the screen. but it does make the fights that much more intense
i like gears of war over halo3 because the graphics are better and more realistic. then again, i like halo3 cause im more into fps's than third person. halo3 is also more easy to get into imo.
I agree, because Halo 3 has every thing a true gamer wants. It has great matchmaking, character models, music, story(including novels), and the energy sword can pwn the chainsaw anyday.
i also agree, gears is fun and all but the controls and layout is not my thing, it's also really boring, at least that's what i think anyways since the game is too long. halo is long too but alot more better and somewhat engaging. i play halo over gears any day really
I think comparing the two is not really something I could do. They both have way too many differences for me to say that Halo 3 and GoW2 are in the same arena... though they are both shooters.
Halo 3 online romps GoW2 for sure... but I think I prefer GoW2 multiplayer gametypes better.
I believe it's hard to compare them, seeing as they're different types of games. I mean different as in style- in Halo, you run in, guns blazing, grenades exploding, and achievements bleeping all to give humanity a chance. In gears, you run from cover to cover in a dark, chaotic world of desperation and try a last-ditch plan to save man.
They're just different in the type of action they are. That being said, I think Halo 3 will pull ahead because it has a groundbreaking series behind it, great multiplayer, and a slightly longer campaign.
I personally am not much of a fan of shooters. However, after seeing, playing, and reading about each, my conclusion is that Halo appeals more for those who like multiplayer action. Gears of War gets my vote for a better story/mission mode and better graphics. I actually haven't played Gears of War, I played Gears 2 mission mode with my friend, and I was addicted to it. I don't think theres much difference between first and third person shooting; they're almost similar.
halo fans are gonna say halo and gears fans will say gears. It's really hard for me to compare the games. I'm a big gears head so i gotta say gears, however I do like halo. I just can't play 1st person's for long periods of time my head starts to hurt. Anyway I think if u took someone who never played either game and gave them a week with each, Gears would win. In my opinion, better graphics, better maps, better game modes, only thing is the host problem in gears 2 and the lag issues.

There's a big difference. The most important (annoying) one is that with a third-person shooter, you can see around corners although your character is actually staring at a wall.
