Halo 3 sucks. Not because its boring but because it was made purely to appeal to the vast majority of people and thus was created simply and with no depth. It is easy to be good at, its super repetitive, it requires no teamwork because games that require you to work as a team do not appeal to younger kids and people under 15 make up the vast majority of the Halo 3 community. Gears of war on the other hand requires teamwork to succeed. It also makes you think before running out shooting and yelling, unlike halo. Halo is just so repetitive and shallow that the only people that can stand it for more than a month are young kids who want to talk about how they "pwn" at halo. Gears is a masterpiece all around : Graphics, Gameplay, Community.
Um what? Halo 3 is what you make of it. Play in Hardcore or DLC to avoid the crappy players. If you rank up and get a high skill you won't have to worry about it anyway. And by the way, there is nothing repetitive about Halo 3 unless you keep doing the same thing over and over. Download forged or modded maps and play some custom with a bunch of friends and you'll have hours of fun.

I like both games. In fact I was a halo nut for a minute there until gears came out. now i'm in luv with gears. As far as teamwork, gears is more teamwork oriented, but the online component of halo can be about teamwork, if you get with the right crew of people. Gears is teamwork and thinking all day long! If i had to choose 1 or the other, couldn't do it! Love them both!
Yes, thank you. We already know they very different games. They're compared not because they're the same kind of game (they're not) but because they're 2 power house franchises for the same console aimed at the same age group.
I have played both and loved both, but I would rather play halo. Gears is just to dark you don't know where you are half the time or where your supposed to go, but on the brighter side gears has the better aspects for adult gamer; since it has blood and gore. Halo on the other hand has a better story, the game play is better, and the online play is better. So if I had to choose it would be halo but I've been a halo nut since the original xbox

I'm with ya 100%, man. Halo, to me has more depth. I'm STILL not bored of it! There is so much to do in/with this game.
yeah and i think with these types of games its really all about replayability. cuz if you finish and your done then why did you buy it, ive had halo 3 since it hit (original copy) and i still come home and play it for at least an hour or so. well now im stuck on halo wars, and i picked up re5 the other day and i aint even opened it yet

Too dark? It looks perfectly fine on my HDTV... perhaps it's time that you upgrade to a new TV, or mess around with the settings on your current TV. Never before have I heard someone say that the game is "too dark". Wow.
wow calm down home boy. and as a matter of fact ogtta 46 inch and when i adjusted it so i could see the game everything else was way to bright and it was jsut a hassel changing my settings aroun. but yeah i thought it was just to dark, i mean im not saying i didnt still play the hell out of it but it was dark. but halo has always been just perfect and playin it on high def is even better.
I like Gears cause it's gameplay is different than most shooters. It's more duck and shoot than just rambo. That is the ONLY reason I like it. Everything else about it sucks. The A.I., the story, and sometimes the art style. Don't get me wrong, I like the art style. The dark and twistedness of it both draws me in and pushes me away. It draws me in cause it has its own feel to it. Gears is Gears and you can recognize it when you see it. It pushes me away BECAUSE it's so dark. It just feels so gloomy. It kinda makes me feel down when I play it. Odd I know. But then there's Halo. Halo's story is the same but it's portrayed much better than Gears' story was. Halo was more bright and inviting. It's easier for me to play Halo. A.I. is slightly better than Gears. The A.I. is still not the best but it's better. The gameplay was pretty decent but it just felt like another shooter to me. Granted a good shooter but nothing was really there to say "this is an original FPS". It's very hard to find originality though. Both games were very epic and both games were great. I can't really say which was better cause both are completely different types of games. In nearly every aspect they are different. This is a never ending dispute.
