I wrote a review of halo3 on my blog about all the flaws on it, Link is in the Sig, i think halo3 is a load of crap and they had a pretty long time to work on it they should of did better. Sub par graphics, multiplayer glitches, non dedicated hosting, its really sad.
I sort of disagreed with this reviewer. First of all, I thought the visuals were fantastic, and I wouldn't have asked for any better. (Even after playing through bioshock) I also thought the multiplayer was much better than Halo 2.
personaly i think Quake III Team Arena plays better than Halo 3 online and that was made years ago.
i think the online world has moved on and Halo 3 is still trying to be a Quake rip off.
i'd rather play BioShock offline and say Call of Duty 4 online

You are really living in foreverland if you think Team arena is better than Halo3. simply put, there really isnt much wrong with Halo3, and Bungie put a hell of alot of time and effort into the game and it shows. Simply put, Halo 3 is the game thats trendy to bash, and COD 4 is the trendy game to like, since the majority of peoples opinons on both games are horrendously biased, somtimes branching on semi-retarded. Even though COD4 is damn near a clone of COD2 with modern weapons and a party system, yet no one ever points that out, becuse COD4 is just so godlike.
If you want a FPS to bash, go ahead and talk about Battlefield: bad company, or a game that is truly bad.

The bottom line is that most of us agree that Halo 3 is an average game. It is by no means a game of the year. All it did was ride the coat tails of its predecessors. That doesn't mean we should clamor around it like it is the new messiah.
Fun? Yes. Good multiplayer? Yes. But it didn't do anything different than add on what was already there. They didn't go above and beyond like other games have. The same can be said for other franchise games. They have to stay in their own realm, or people will stop liking them. Halo had it's time in the lime light for a long time. But now it is time for it to step down and let another take it's place.
No game has been able to fill those big shoes yet. So we keep talking about Halo to entertain us until something better comes along... Such is the life of a gamer. Bungie seemed to figure this out. Halo 4? No. They are coming out with Halo Wars. This is a RTS people. The farthest thing away from a FPS. Bungie has beaten the dead horse enough to realize it is finally dead.

You know halo 3 is the most played xbox live game right? This is definitly a triple A title and not just "average". The game is dead you say? **** no, popular to bash? hell yes, and they are making another halo game(not halo wars), of that is certain. No one knows the story or characters, but they were suposed to reveal it at E3 and postponed it, but they are making a new 360 halo game.

I really dont think Halo is dead. Halo 3 didnt keep my attention for very long but I think that was because I played Halo 2 to death. I also didnt like the maps on Halo 3. I keep trying to pick it back up but it never lasts. I get sick of the immature kids in the game. I have to turn off my voice communictaion to be able to stand it. I have the same problem with COD 4 maybe not quite as bad. Lately I have been playing COD 3 online. It seems to have a pretty mature community now a days.
I am not Australian but I'm sure Crocodile Dundee would review games better than your source. Yeah Bioshock looks teh pretty but aim at the ground you have no lower torso or legs/feet! a "floating hand with crowbar/gun simulator!!?" Seriously though Halo3 has more replay value than all 3 of Ken Lombardi's "shock" games combined. LOL "floating hand sims".
Styles I own and love Bioshock. It definitely shines in originality and graphics(possibly the best visuals yet in contrast to Crysis's sprawling vistas). But oldboys criticisms are moot when Bioshock shares some of Halo 3s problems, in particular, backtracking. If I shell out $60 for a game nowadays I expect at least some kind of multiplayer, and oldboy doesn't mention bioshock' "shortcomings."(length, backtracking, lack of replay value, floating hand with gun sim etc...)
