I saw the little Lego-like game, but we dont know how big that part of the game is. Lets not lose hope.
They did mentioned that building and using vehicles will be a major part of the game, and will be required to complete most of the challenges in the game (which in turn allow you to collect Jiggies). To me, that hardly represents the old Banjo-Kazooie that we have all grown to love.
You're right, we shouldn't loose hope, but so far, this bit of news is not that promising in my opinion.
EVERY SINGLE ONE OF BANJO'S MOVES HAVE BEEN TAKEN OUT. Banjo can not do anything but run, jump, and "climb". Everything else is just those blocks that you build stupid **** with. Then you start to do some ****** lego street racing. ALLL RIGHTTTT YAAHH!!!

Unbelievable....it really baffles me why producers drastically change a game so much, and as far as I can tell, fans of the series were not calling for any change at all. Did they honestly think this approach would tide over with the fans so well? I know they just lost a sale of this game from me, and I'm sure there will be many more as well (My friend also said the new features look horrible and probably won't even give it a try).
Well there is good news for us, and good news for the developers.
Good news for us:
This is not an official Banjo Kazooie sequal.
We havent played it yet
This is not an official Banjo Kazooie sequal.
Good news for devs:
-this game is going to sell
-They havent titled this game Banjo Kazooie 3
-The game will sell to a younger generation who kno nothing about banjo Kazooie, this way the game will be judged for what its worth rather than what it was.
Trust me on this one, the fanbase on this game wouldnt have been more than half the sales even if this game was traditional, so of course thier going to feel like they can veer away and do somthing they may have been wanting to do for a while. I just say no ones played the game yet, so if its any good i say support it for what its worth, and not what franchise its set on, and maybe next time we will get that Banjo Kazooie 3. This is exactly like Viva Pinata : party animals, its not an official sequal(hence the colon) but it uses the same franchise/characters.

Hmm... what's happened to Rare lately? They used to be the awesome. I really liked Banjo Kazooie. In fact I liked most of their N64 stuff. But this looks like it's shaping up to be just Ratchet & Clank 360. Hmm... I'll keep my eye on it, at least.
I just don't understand why they would develop a game like this after its been so long since the last Banjo-Kazooie Adventure (obviously dating back to N64 times). To me, this game just puts doubts into any future installment of the series and leaves me little confidence in Rare.
I'm probably being over skeptical, but only because I'm such a big fan of the series. Maybe Rare will be using this game to work out all of the kinks of a next generation game and come back with an awesome Banjo-Kazooie 3 in the future. Hopefully.
can't wait for this to be released, i loved the banjo series as a child, and it will be even better with revamped graphics.
the reason it is being released solely for 360 is because back in like 2002 microsoft bought rare ware ( the company that makes perfect dark, goldeneye, banjo, conker, etc)
There's an article on this in the new issue of Game Informer. I haven't read it because I don't really think this Banjo will ever top the one on the N64. That was a decent enough game, but the second one was horrible.
Cylon, as for confidence in Rare... I have none. Look at what they did to Perfect Dark. They ruined that series from ever coming back to what it was. I think they should bring back the original team that worked on Goldeneye and try something. More than likely, I think this new Banjo game isn't going to amount to much.
Very sad, too.

Banjoo Twooie!?!?! (or however you spell it), I loved that more than the original.
Yeah!!! Finally some platformer go to X360! Because Viva Pinata is not a platformer, but a boring strategy for kids . Anyway, I'm happy. It's a new reason to buy this console.

Reason: Clarity.
After showing a trailer for this game on E3, they also announced that the original Banjo Kazooie game will be released on Xbox Live Arcade sometime in the future.

Wow, I like the sound of that! I really liked the original, but I don't think I ever finished it. Although in all honesty I can't remember whether or not I did. I'll still buy it on Live Arcade though.
I played the BK3 demo, wasn't to pleased with it, the text is so small to read and it goes by to fast... but I'm going to get this game anyway.
The text thing is a known issue - and there's an easy way to fix it. Buy a Hi-def TV!
In all seriousness though, this was a problem with the first batch or so of 360 games, but I can't understand how it could still be an issue now. They're also refusing to fix it, citing cost issues. Does it really cost that much to change the font size from tiny to readable?
As for Rare going downhill, the N64 was certainly their heyday, without question. But I really liked Kameo, and I know a lot of people loved Viva Pinata. I never played it though.
