Call of Duty 3 (PS3)
Is anyone else excited about this game? It will be released on the Ps3, Xbox 360, and even the Wii. Right now it is slated to be released during the fall of 2006, probably right after the Ps3 release. I have always enjoyed the Call of Duty series, and with the Ps3/Xbox 360/Wii graphics engines, this game should be simply amazing. I enjoyed Call of Duty 2 the most, so hopefully they don't stray too far off from that gameplay feel.
IGN: Call of Duty 3
One side note: I also saw that Activision does not plan to release Call of Duty for the PC, which really surprised me. I would think that the PC generates a large protion of the fan base of this game. I would rather play Call of Duty on the PC, but I guess with the next generation consoles, it will be essentially the same thing.

Id rather play it for pc too. PCs already surpass the ps3 and the 360 in power wise. I might pick up this game for the ps3 with my clan. We are just all trying to decide which games we want causs we are all probably going to get 2 games at launch, or whenever we buy the console. And we all want to be on the same game. So we have yet to decide, cod3 is a good possibility. But then again, ww2 games are getting boring.
Wii version might be fun.

I don't care for the game. I played Big Red One and the online play just didn't attract me. It was laggy as ****, people cheated, and it was a constant respawn for an hour. I would take socom over call of duty anyday.

Um, yah but that is the version that the developers didnt try on. They made a really good call of duty 2 game for PC and 360 which was a way different game then big red one. They release a ****** one for xbox and ps2 to make more money. This call of duty 3 is the good quality game they spend time on :p. So it has a chance to be pretty good.

I don't care for the online play of Call of Duty 1 or 2 either. It just doesn't compare to any other first or third person shooter in terms of online experience. The single player portion of both games are awesome, and is worth the purchase alone. Regardless of how bad the online play will be for Call of Duty 3, I will still be purchasing it solely for the single player experience (One of the few game series that I will actually buy just for the offline mode).

I was personally very impressed with Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2's single player campaigns. They were exciting and could be challenging (I played them on the highest difficulty because I wanted to have some fun; probably not the best idea for a first-time-player of the game, but it did make everything exciting and fresh).
LAN play was also great for Call of Duty, as I played with a bunch of my buddies and had some awesome times. Of course, LAN play is always more fun than internet play in my opinion, but that doesn't matter.
If Call of Duty 3 is not released for the PC, there's probably no chance I'm going to get it. Plus, none of my friends will have computers powerful enough to play the game, as half of them had trouble with CoD2.

Wo wo wo watch what you sayin boy!
I agree in a way though. Splinter cell is by far the BEST single player game I have ever played. The online portion is JUST as good but popularity of it does not last making it suck. However it is a great game all and all.
Back to Call of Duty. I agree that the single player is great because your team actually helps you in missions unlike socom. The online is sorta fun but after a week of it its just the same ol thing, lag, cheating, long games.

I will own a copy of CoD3 on my Xbox 360... I simply loved CoD2 way too much to miss out on the sequel.
