CODE 9/ CORA wouldn't give an authentication error as far as I know anyway. Don't assume.
A few things:
1) Any changes in your connection since the last time you played? If so, try playing with the old connection.
2) Will other PS2 Online games with DNAS let you on? If so it could be a problem with the server or your settings, or you may need to open the correct ports.
3) Can you log onto SOCOM 1? Socom 1 does not require DNAS, so if so, it is almost certainly a problem with your connection.
4) Which SOCOM is this on?
5) Try waiting a few hours/days. Then see if it works.
6) Is there a problem with your save data/memory card? Specifically for the game and the network settings.
7) I forget how, but if you are semi disconnected you will get to the DNAS screen then get kicked off. I think this happened to me when our cable company didn't have enough signal boosters along the line. The weak signal caused our Modem to go off and get stuck on reciving/sending/online for a while, allowing for connection from computers (PC's don't reset when the connection does, and the browser will stay open if there is a connection problem, so all you have to do is keep on refreshing) but not on SOCOM (lag out, long process of loading/connecting to get online and then into a game)
Eight) If a connection problem occurs while signing on, you will get the error message

Reason: why can't we just rename the shortcut for 8) to B)?
