Hey fellas, whenever I try to play Liberation it seems that it freezes and then my PS2 restarts. I have redownloaded my maps twice and I still only have a problem with Liberation. I have even downloaded the maps on another flash drive and I still have the same problem. I just hope I can play this map later because this is my favorite map of Socom 2.

Having the same problem. I have the older PS2, using it with a USB flash drive/MP3 player. I might try redownloading the maps later.

Yeah me too I have the fat PS2 also. Maybe it cant handle it, because I have had this PS2 since launch.

I have the old PS2 and the new Liberation works fine for me. Maybe it's because I'm using the HDD.

I doubt it is that. The original series of PS2 is the best. There were like 4 series for the "fat" PS2 and I believe 2 series for the "thin" PS2. I had the PS2 launch series, never had problems with Socom or any other game.

Last year before Socom 3 came out I needed to send it in. They called me and found out they couldn't fix it. So I needed to order a Refurbished version of the 1st series PS2. Basically it means they took an Older PS2, gutted it, put in all new parts, and closed it and slapped a new sticker on the side. So, now I have a brand new 1st series of the PS2. Maybe you should consider doing this if you are having trouble but don't want to give up the perfect version of the console.

Same here, i'll wait to see if my bro is able to play from his psp in a few and let you know if he has the same problem

Hey guys I ahvent played Socom 3 in a long time i jsut went to login downloaded the new update and it says update complete requires restart...then when i restart in the begining it says update is corrupt...i go to login and it will never connect...What do you suppose i should do...anyhelp will be greatly appreciated!

i downloaded the maps into my sons psp and i cant even play the maps i downloaded....how come? do u have to be verified to download the maps??
if yes,u have to be verified to get the maps ..then y did it let me download it?? ..there should be a sign or sumthing that says u cant download the mappacks because ur not verified..

same problem here when i first got the game. i had to download that thing over and over just reepeatedly. the best advice i can give u is u need to download ur network configuration from a startup disc if u havent. every time i play the game before it starts it says mine is corrupt but it still lets me login.

You first have to purchase it then download it. I didnt do that, so that may be it.

For one thing I know now it isnt my PS2 because it plays the other maps with ease.
