Fewer and fewer motels/hotels are offering hardline broadband these days.....they're going wifi more and more. Don't know how to jack into that unless you carry a laptop w/wifi capability and network through it.

I have no idea how that's done though. It's too bad since I travel a lot myself and would love to carry my ps2 w/me.

One suggestion for you Uncle Doug - buy a PSP. Isn't it true you can play FTB on it in multiplayer on wifi? One of my clan mates has one and he says it's great.

Any help on how to configure my settings for this problem would be greatly appreciated as well as knowing what it's doing when it looks for the universes and why am I not getting past that point.

Any help on this subject would be considered a personal favor to me, and I would be in your debt. Please advise if you have any relative info. ~W

I travel all over the US in my job. I always carry my PS2 and I usually manage to find a hotel that will work.

I simply call ahead to the town I will be in and ask if they have hard wired cable internet. If they say yes, I ask if it requires a password in order to log on. If they say no, then I usually have good luck. I have been playing SOCOM in hotels for 4 years now, I actually called and had the cable company hook up cable internet in my room (the hotle only offered wireless) for a month. It cost me $114, but I had my SOCOM.

Each hotel maybe different, the name has no meaning as to what type internet they will have. That all depends on the Internet provider in the area. As Tagger said most new hotels are going to wireless and the old hotels that had no internet are going wireless as well. Wireless just sucks for gamers.

However that will change when the PS3 comes out, that runs wireless internet on it, hotels will have a spas, a long que of PS3's outside their hotels.
