I don't know how many of you watch Nascar, but I love it. I have the 05 game but didn't buy 06 because in my opinion, it wasn't much different. But I've wondered something, in 05 why isn't Jeremy Mayfield in the game?
1) In 2004 Jeremy Mayfield was caught up in an accident in the first race which took him out of the chase competition.
2) Games publishers must get permission from each driver and/or sponser in order to be able to use their car/logo in the game and maybe he didn't want to be in it?
I saw a interview once that staed what drivers would not be protrayed in the game and Jeremy Mayfield was one of them. It had something to do with a licensing agreement.
In the game there is also an excessive amount of fantasy drivers. I've been in races where over half the field is fantasy, personally I like to race side by side with Jeff Gordan and other drivers!

With EA games, they begin production on a certain year game (ie: NASCAR 2005) the year before so everything isn't completely accurate.
Ye do they just add to the game the year before or actualy start from scratch? I was just wondering how they make this games that come out each year like MADDEN, NBA Live, NASCAR and ect.
I still play 05 from time to time. I tried 06 when it came out and didn't like it at all. There was no sense of speed, graphics took a bad downgrade, and what new features were added was minimal. Only thing that was added was the team control feature and also hotswapping. I just couldn't get by how slow the game played and ended up taking it back.
I have found that alot of the unlockables in 05 need to be turned off once you purchase them. Unless you want alot of fantasy drivers in the field, and also an all MR. CLEAN pitcrew. The career mode is top notch in this game BTW.
