Any of you guys listened to them? There a fairly new group but you would swear that there straight out of the 70s. To me they sound like a mix of Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Sabbath. If you like those bands you should definatlly check them out.

Yeah, that song "Woman" by Wolfmother gets played on Sirius Octane 20 all the time. I don't really like it though. I have a problem with these new bands that are comming out now with that "vintage" sound because it just comes off as fake to me. I don't like much of the new stuff that comes out either though with their "original" sound that's really just cookie cutter music. I guess I am very picky! Unfortunately, Wolfmother doesn't pass my indescribable standards.

I have to agree, I dont like all these bands coming out like it's some big music movement from the 70's, - Wolfmother, The Darkness, The Vines etc....
But Hey, If you like them that's all that matters.....

My friend just gave me that new Raconteurs CD with Jack White , it's alright, I've always wanted to Hear what Jack White would do with a full band.

Well I mean you cant blame them for playing a style of music that is out of date and not on the charts anymore. I mean if I played an instrument I would be playing similar stuff to Zeppelin because thats the music I enjoy. I wouldnt be out there playing Emo BS because I dont like it. I said they sounded like Zeppelin, Floyd and Sabbath but in no way are the as great as them. Its just nice that there are some musicians that dont just play whats popluar right now but maybe play the music that they enjoy. Once again I say they are good, but no where near as good as Zeppelin (best band ever).

True... I do see what you are saying, DeBOG, but my thing is: Bands like Zep, Floyd and Sabbath (lol... why them?) all developed their sound out of the influence of the music prior to them... they take that influence and build upon their own unique sound and that, I think, is what makes them so great and timeless... That's how music evolves over the years...

Now as for these new bands, they too should follow this pattern of building upon their influence, be it Zep, or Floyd, or Foghat for all I care, and making their own sound... not simply imitating the sound of what they listened to. That's what it seems they're doing and I don't fancy it. I guess it's refreshing rather than some of the "new" sounding BS out there... but to each their own...

They don't sound that great anyway. They really don't sound much like Zeppelin or Sabbath at all.

I personally like the one song they have out right now "Woman"

As far as anything else they have put out, I'm not very qualified to make a review...but that one song is promising

I like them a lot, Woman is an awesome song!
